Pest Destruction Districts

  1. The boundaries of the Ashburton Pest Destruction District (which was constituted by Order in Council on the 17th day of December 1958*), the Ashburton Gorge Pest Destruction District (which was constituted by Order in Council on the 9th day of February 1949†), and the Whitcombe Pest Destruction District (which was constituted by Order in Council on the 1st day of May 1957‡), are hereby declared united to form one district to be called the Ashburton Pest Destruction District, the boundaries of which shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto.

  2. The basis on which the Board for the said District shall first levy its general rate shall be the acreage of the land occupied by the ratepayer.

SCHEDULE

BOUNDARIES OF ASHBURTON PEST DESTRUCTION DISTRICT

The boundaries of the Ashburton Pest Destruction District shall be that area of land contained in the following districts:

  • Ashburton Pest Destruction District Order 1965, Gazette, 1965, p. 937.
  • Ashburton Gorge Pest Destruction District Order 1965, Gazette, 1966, p. 5.
  • Whitcombe Pest Destruction District Order 1961, Gazette, 1961, p. 1920.

PURSUANT to the Agricultural Pests Destruction Act 1967, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER

  1. This order may be cited as the Central King Country Pest Destruction District Order 1974.

  2. The boundaries of the Central King Country Pest Destruction District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the 18th day of March 1974*, are hereby altered and redefined and, as from the commencement of this order, the boundaries of the said district shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

BOUNDARIES OF THE CENTRAL KING COUNTRY PEST DESTRUCTION DISTRICT

ALL that area in the South Auckland, Taranaki, and Wellington Land Districts, Taumarunui, Taupo, and Stratford Counties, Taumarunui Borough and Ohura Town District containing 5087 square kilometres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at the intersection of the generally eastern boundary of part Section 9, Block VII, Pouatu Survey District with the generally western boundary of Taumarunui County as described in New Zealand Gazette, 1967, page 1869, and proceeding generally northerly and easterly along the generally western and northern boundaries of that county to a point in the middle of the Ongarue River in line with the generally western boundary of Maraeroa A2 Block in Block VII, Hurakia Survey District; thence generally southerly to and along that boundary and the generally western boundary of part Waihaha No. 1 to Trig. Station No. 2165 (Pakihi) in Block II, Puketapu Survey District; thence south-easterly along a right line to the north-easternmost corner of Hauhungaroa No. 4; thence generally easterly along the generally northern boundaries of Hauhungaroa No. 5 and part 2C Blocks to the intersection of the last-mentioned boundary produced with the middle of the Waiwhaanga Stream; thence easterly generally down the middle of that stream and the middle of the Oruapuraho River to the shore of Lake Taupo; thence generally southerly along the generally western shore of Lake Taupo to and up the middle of the Tongariro River and the Waikato River to its source in Block XII, Ruapehu Survey District; thence westerly along a right line to Trig. Station H (Paretetaitonga) in Block XI, Ruapehu Survey District, being a point on the boundary of the Taumarunui County, aforesaid; thence generally westerly and northerly along that boundary to a point in the middle of the Heao Stream in line with the southern boundary of Maraekowhai A5E Block situated in Block IX, Heao Survey District; thence westerly to and along that boundary and the southern boundary of Marackowhai A5H Block and its production to the middle of the Tangarakau River; thence north-westerly generally up the middle of that river to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Section 30, Block VII, Pouatu Survey District; thence northerly to and along that boundary and the eastern boundary of part Section 9, Block VII, aforesaid, to the point of commencement.

SCHEDULE

BOUNDARIES OF THE WAITOMO PEST DESTRUCTION DISTRICT

ALL that area in the South Auckland and Taranaki Land Districts, County of Waitomo, containing 3370 square kilometres, bounded by a line commencing at the middle of the mouth of the Mokau River, situated in Block I, Awakino Survey District and proceeding generally northerly and generally easterly along the mean high-water mark of the sea coast and the generally southern shore of Kawhia Harbour to the northernmost corner of part Hauturu West 2B 4C South 2 Block, situated in Block II, Kawhia South Survey District; thence generally south-westerly along the generally north-western boundaries of the last-mentioned block, to and generally southerly along the eastern boundaries of part Section 7, Block II, aforesaid, and Sections 14 (provisional State Forest, New Zealand Gazette, 1953, page 1124) and 13, Block VI, Kawhia South Survey District to the north-westernmost corner of Allotment 1 of Section 3, Block VI, aforesaid; thence generally easterly along the generally northern boundaries of Allotment 1, aforesaid, and Lot 7, D.P. 7463 (South Auckland Land Registry), a right line crossing the intervening Waiharakeke Road, Lot 8A, D.P. 7463, Section 6 (State Forest, New Zealand Gazette, 1959, page 343), Block VII, Kawhia South Survey District to the middle of a public road; thence again generally easterly along the middle lines of that road and Toi Road to a point in line with the generally northern boundary of the eastern portion of Lot 5A, D.P. 7462, situated in Block VII, aforesaid; thence generally easterly along a right line to and along that generally northern boundary, Sections 4A and 4, Block VII, aforesaid, a right line across Awaroa Road, Lots 1 and 2, D.P. 12587, situated in Block VIII, Kawhia South Survey District to the easternmost corner of Section 5, Block VI, Kawhia South Survey District; thence generally northerly along the generally western boundaries of Sections 8 and 7 (provisional State Forest, New Zealand Gazette, 1955, page 1566), Block I, Orahiri Survey District to and generally easterly along the generally northern boundary of Section 7, aforesaid, and its production to the middle of Hauturu Road and generally south-westerly along the middle of that road to a point in line with the northern boundary of Section 3, Block I, aforesaid.
