National Roads Board—Declaring State Highway to be a
Limited Access Road
It is notified that the National Roads Board, by resolution
dated 16 October 1974 and pursuant to section (4)
of the Public Works Amendment Act 1963, hereby declares
that part of No. 2 State Highway (Pokeno-Wellington) from
the southern boundary of Carterton Borough to the boundary
of Greytown Borough as more particularly shown on sheet 1
of plan M.O.W. 36417 and accompanying schedule held in
the office of the Resident Engineer, Ministry of Works and
Development, Masterton, and there available for public inspection,
to be a limited access road.

Division of Upper Clutha Pest Destruction District Into
Wards (Notice No. 958 Ag. 20891A)
PURSUANT to section 21 of the Agricultural Pests Destruction
Act 1967, the Upper Clutha Pest Destruction Board
hereby gives notice that the Upper Clutha Pest Destruction
District which was constituted by Order in Council on the
18th day of March 1974* is hereby divided into wards, the
names and boundaries of which are specified in the Schedule
hereto.
SCHEDULE
KAWARAU WARD
ALL that area in the Otago Land District, the counties of
Lake and Vincent, containing 80 000 hectares, more or less,
bounded by a line commencing at Trig. FF at the south-western corner of Block XII, Crown Survey District, and
proceeding generally north-easterly along the north-western
boundary of Run 726 to the generally southern boundary
of Run 629; thence generally easterly and north-easterly along
the generally southern and south-eastern boundaries of that
run and the north-western boundary of Run 731 to northern-most part of the last-mentioned run; thence generally south-easterly along the north-eastern boundary of that Run 731
to the north-western side of State Highway No. 6; thence
south-westerly along the north-eastern side of that highway
to a point in line with the north-eastern side of Amisfield
Road; thence south-easterly to and along the north-eastern
side of that road and its production to the middle of the
Clutha River; thence generally southerly along the middle
of that River to a point due east of the northernmost corner
of Part Section 4, Block XVI, Leaning Rock Survey District;
thence due west to the said corner and along the northern
boundaries of Part Section 4 and Section 1630R to the western-most corner of Part Section 4 aforesaid; thence south-westerly
and south-easterly along the north-western and south-western
boundary of Part Run 249 to the middle of the Hawks Burn;
thence generally southerly along the middle of the Hawks
Burn to its confluence with Earnscleugh River; thence south-westerly along the middle of that river to a point in line
with the production of the southern boundary of Run 339G;
thence westerly to and along that boundary and the southern
boundary of Runs 339F and 339E and the production of
the last-mentioned boundary to the middle of Nevis River;
thence generally northerly along the middle of that river
to its confluence with Kawarau River; thence generally north-westerly along the middle of that river to a point in line
with the production of the western boundary of Run 726;
thence northerly to and along that boundary to the point
of commencement.
CRIFFEL WARD
ALL that area in the Otago Land District, the Counties of
Vincent and Lake, containing 79 500 hectares, more or less,
bounded by a line commencing at Mount Cardrona on the
western boundary of Run 340B, Knuckle Peak Survey District,
and proceeding generally northerly and north-easterly along
the western and north-western boundary of that run and
the north-western boundaries of Runs 774 and 775 to the
western boundary of Part Run 334; thence southerly and
south-easterly along the western and south-western boundaries
of that part run to the north-western boundary of
Section 8, Block V, Cardrona Survey District; thence north-easternly along the north-western boundary of that Section 8
and the south-eastern boundary of Part Run 334 aforesaid
to the left bank of the Cardrona River; thence generally
north-easterly along the left bank of that river and its
production to the middle of the Clutha River; thence generally
southerly along the middle of that river to a point in line
with the north-eastern side of Amisfield Road; thence north-westerly to and along that side and its production to the
north-western side of State Highway No. 6; thence north-easternly along the north-western side of that highway to
the north-easternmost boundary of Run 731; thence generally
north-westerly and south-westerly along the north-eastern and
north-western side of that run and the generally south-eastern
and southern boundaries of Run 629 to the north-eastern
boundary of Run 726; thence north-westerly and south-westerly along the north-western boundaries of that run to
Trig. FF; thence south-westerly and north-westerly along
the south-eastern and south-western boundaries of Crown
Survey District to a point due east of Trig. HH (Crown
Peak); thence due west to that Trig.; thence generally northerly along the watershed of the Cardrona and Arrow Rivers
to the south-western corner of Section 5, Block I, Knuckle
Peak Survey District; thence northerly along the eastern
boundary of Run 25 and Part Run 334B to the point of
commencement.
LAKES WARD
ALL that area in the Otago Land District, Lake and Vincent
Counties, containing 240 100 hectares, more or less, bounded
by a line commencing at the south-western corner of Mount
Pollux Survey District and proceeding north-easterly and
south-easterly along the north-western and north-eastern
boundaries of Part Run 97 and its production to the middle
of Siberia Stream; thence south-easterly along the middle
of that stream to a point in line with the production of the
north-western boundary of the westernmost Part Run 98;
thence generally north-easterly to and along that boundary
and its production to the middle of Young River; thence
north-easterly along a right line to the summit of the watershed
between Young River and Levin Stream; thence north-easterly along a right line to Trig. H (Mount Birnam) in
Block XI, Haast Survey District; thence north-easterly to
and along the north-eastern boundary of the northernmost
Part Run 98 and its production to the middle of Fish River;
thence easterly along a right line to the centre of State
Highway No. 6 and the summit of the Haast Pass; thence
generally north-easterly along the summit of the Southern
Alps to the south-easternmost corner of Block VIII, Haast
Pass Survey District, Westland Land District; thence north-easterly along a right line to a point 100 metres north-east
of “The Forks” at the right bank of the source of the
Hunter River in Hunter Survey District; thence south-westerly
along that right bank and the western side of Lake Hawea
to the middle of Hawea River; thence generally southerly
along the middle of that river to its confluence with Clutha
River; thence south-easterly along the middle of that river
to a point in line with the left bank of Cardrona River;
thence generally south-westerly to and along the left bank
of that river to the easternmost corner of Part Run 334;
thence south-westerly along the south-eastern boundary of
that Part Run and the north-western boundary of Section 8
to the north-eastern boundary of Run 775; thence north-westerly and south-westerly along the north-eastern and south-western boundaries of that run and the north-western boundaries
of Runs 774 and 340B to the southern boundary of
Part Run 334B; thence generally westerly and northerly
along the southern and western boundaries of that Part Run
to the western boundary of Part Run 333A; thence north-westerly along the north-eastern boundary of Polnoon Survey
District to the western boundary of Part Run 458; thence
northerly and westerly along the eastern and northern boundaries
of Run 749 to Mount Tyndall; thence north-easterly
along a right line to the boundary angle on the eastern
boundary of Part Run 468, north of Glacier Burn; thence
north-easterly along the south-eastern boundary of that Run
to the southern boundary of Pollux Survey District; thence
westerly along that boundary to the point of commencement.
