The Traffic (Rangiora County) Notice No. 2, 1974
PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby gives the following notice.
NOTICE
-
This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Rangiora County) Notice No. 2, 1974.

The Traffic (Rangiora County) Notice 1966, dated the 13th day of July 1966*, and the Traffic (Rangiora County) Notice 1, 1974, dated the 6th day of August 1974†, under section 52 of the Transport Act 1962, which relate to roads situated at The Pines and Kairaki within Rangiora County are hereby revoked.

The Motor Launch (Lake Wakatipu) Notice 1974—Lake County Council
PURSUANT to the Motor Launch Regulations 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby gives the following notice:
- (a) This notice may be cited as the Motor Launch (Lake Wakatipu) Notice 1974.
(b) This notice shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Gazette and shall remain in force until revoked by further notice in the Gazette.

Subject to the conditions set forth in the Third Schedule hereto, regulations 11 and 12 of the Motor Launch Regulations 1962* shall not apply with respect to the area described in the First Schedule hereto.

The area described in the Second Schedule hereto shall be an access lane.
FIRST SCHEDULE
ALL that area of Lake Wakatipu at Kingston within 200 yd of the water's edge bounded to the south-east by a line at right angles to the water's edge at mean lake level commencing at a position at that level in line with the west side of the north end of Cambridge Street, and bounded to the north-west by a similar line being an extension of the north-west boundary of Section 22, Lot 5, Block I, of the Kingston Survey District.
SECOND SCHEDULE
ALL that area of water extending out into Lake Wakatipu at Kingston and bounded on the sides by parallel lines 132 yd apart, the north-west boundary being contiguous to the south-east boundary of the area described in the First Schedule to this notice and the south-east boundary commencing at a point on the water's edge at mean lake level at a position at that level in line with the west side of the north end of Oxford Street.
THIRD SCHEDULE

No person shall propel or navigate a powered vessel at a proper speed greater than 5 miles per hour within the area described in the First Schedule hereto when-
(a) Within 100 ft of any other vessel; or
(b) Within 100 ft of any person in the water. or bathing, or fishing. -
The area of water described in the First Schedule hereto shall be shown cross hatched on a plan of the lake on a scale not less than 5 chains to 1 in., which shall be displayed on the lower portion of a notice board measuring not less than 2 ft 6 in. by 2 ft, painted bright orange with black lettering, which notice board shall be erected at each place where boats are normally launched and on the lakeshore at the north-west boundary of the area.

The upper and middle portion of the aforesaid notice board shall contain the following notice-
"NOTICE
MOTOR LAUNCH REGULATIONS 1962
There is no speed restriction for motor launches and water skiers using the area shown cross hatched on the plan below, subject to the following conditions:
No person shall propel or navigate a powered vessel at a proper speed greater than 5 miles per hour when-
(a) Within 100 ft of any other vessel; or
(b) Within 100 ft of any person in the water or bathing or fishing."

Two 8 ft transit posts with a distance of not less than 10 ft or more than 20 ft between and painted with 12 in. bright orange and black bands shall be erected on land in line with each side of the access lane, the first post being sited on the lake margin at normal lake level.

On each side of the transit posts sited on the lake margin at normal lake level there shall be fastened in line with the sides of the access lane a notice board measuring not less than 2 ft 6 in. by 2 ft painted bright orange with black lettering in the following form:
"NOTICE
MOTOR LAUNCH REGULATIONS 1962
Access lane through which motor launches and water skiers may pass at speeds greater than 5 miles per hour.
BATHERS KEEP OUT"

Three marker buoys of a resilient plastic either barrel, drum, or spherical shaped, painted bright orange with a vertical black stripe, shall be moored 50 yd apart and in line with the notice board erected on the lakeshore of the north-west boundary of the area described in the First Schedule to this notice and in line with each set of transit posts, the first buoy being 50 yd from the water's edge.

Marker buoys of a resilient plastic either barrel, drum, or spherical shaped, painted bright orange with a vertical black stripe shall be moored 200 yd from the lake margin at normal lake level and in line with the notice board erected on the lakeshore of the north-west boundary of the area described in the First Schedule to this notice and in line with each set of transit posts.
