O'Regan, and Georgina Te Heuheu were appointed to be
a Commission to inquire into and report upon the administration of land beneficially owned by Maoris and vested in the Maori Trustee as reserved land under the Maori Reserve Land Act 1955, and upon the provisions of that Act:
And whereas by the said Order in Council you were required to submit your report not later than the 31st day of July 1974:
And whereas by Order in Council made on the 13th day of May 1974† the time within which you were so required to report was extended until the 30th day of October 1974:
And whereas it is expedient that the time for so reporting should be further extended as hereinafter provided:
Now therefore, I, Sir Edward Denis Blundell, the Governor-General of New Zealand, acting pursuant to the Commissions of Inquiry Act 1908, and by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby extend until the 12th day of December 1974 the time within which you, the said Bartholomew Sheehan, Rolland O'Regan, and Georgina Te Heuheu are so required to report, without prejudice to the continuation of the liberty conferred upon you by the first-mentioned Order in Council to report your proceedings and findings from time to time if you judge it expedient so to do, and hereby confirm the said Orders in Council and the Commission thereby constituted, save as modified by these presents.
Given in Executive Council under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General this 7th day of October 1974.

Exempting Land in Westland Land District from the Operation of Part III of the Coal Mines Act 1925

PURSUANT to section 171 of the Coal Mines Act 1925, I, Sir Edward Denis Blundell, the Governor-General of New Zealand, do hereby exempt the land described in the Schedule hereto from the operation of Part III of the said Act.

WESTLAND LAND DISTRICT—BOROUGH OF RUNANGA
Lot 13, Block II, D.P. 148, being part Section 4, Square 124, situated in Block III, Cobden Survey District: area, 607 square metres, more or less. Part certificate of title, Volume 2A, folio 1079.
This amends the notice dated 30 August 1974 and published in the Gazette, 12 September 1974, No. 89, page 1907.

Exempting a Lease in the Southland Land District from the Operation of Part III of the Coal Mines Act 1925

PURSUANT to section 171 of the Coal Mines Act 1925, I, Sir Edward Denis Blundell, the Governor-General of New Zealand, do hereby exempt the lease over the land described in the Schedule hereto from the operation of Part III of the said Act.
SCHEDULE
SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT—WALLACE COUNTY
PART Section 299, Block III, Wairio Survey District: area, 9.1408 hectares, more or less.
Reserving nevertheless unto the Crown firstly, in terms of Section 168A of the Coal Mines Act 1925, all coal existing in its natural condition on or under the surface of the said land, and secondly in terms of section 8 of the Mining Act 1971, every mineral existing in its natural condition on or under the surface of the said land.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General this 4th day of October 1974.

Brian Jack Kidson is appointed to a commission in the rank of Sub Lieutenant with effect from 7 August 1974.
Bruce Geoffrey Williams is appointed to a commission in the rank of Sub Lieutenant with effect from 22 August 1974.
Anthony James Warren is appointed to a commission in the rank of Sub Lieutenant with effect 27 August 1974.
Transfer
Sub Lieutenant P. S. G. Robinson is transferred from Nelson College to TS Talisman with effect from 16 September 1974.
