Declaring the Leasehold Interest in Land and also Declaring
Land Taken for the Purposes of the N.I.M.T. Railway
(Utiku-Mangaweka Deviation) at Mangaweka

Pursuant to section 32 of the Public Works Act 1928, the
Minister of Railways hereby declares that, a sufficient agree-
ment to that effect having been entered into, the leasehold
interest in the land described in the First Schedule hereto
and the land described in the Second Schedule hereto are
hereby taken, subject to Proclamations 595142 and 927443,
and the land described in the Third Schedule hereto is
hereby taken for the purposes of the N.I.M.T. Railway
(Utiku-Mangaweka Deviation) on and after the 21st day
of December 1973.


FIRST SCHEDULE

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT—RANGITIKEI COUNTY

All that piece of land described as follows:

The Wairarapa Electric Power Board Water Power and
Electric Lines Licence 1964, Amendment No. 4

Pursuant to the Electricity Act 1968, the Minister of Elec-
tricity hereby amends the Wairarapa Electric Power Board Water
Power and Electric Lines Licence 1964*, as amended by the
Wairarapa Electric Power Board Water Power and Electric
Lines Licence, Amendment No. 1 (Gazette, 7 May 1970, p.
302), and the Wairarapa Electric Power Board Water Power
and Electric Lines Licence, Amendment No. 2 (Gazette, 23
September 1971, p. 1974), and the Wairarapa Electric Power
Board Water Power and Electric Lines Licence 1964, Amend-
ment No. 3 (Gazette, 30 November 1972, p. 2700), by adding
to the First Schedule, under the heading “Lines Authorised”
the following paragraph:

“7. A line commencing at the boundary of the Wairarapa
Electric Power District and proceeding in a north-easterly
direction for a distance of 3.40 chains across the Ruamahunga
River in Section 7, Block IV, Mikimiki Survey District, the
said line being more particularly shown coloured red on the
plan marked N.Z.E.D. 893 deposited in the office of the
New Zealand Electricity Department at Wellington.”

The West Coast Electric Power Board Lines Licence 1973

Pursuant to the Electricity Act 1968, the Minister of
Electricity hereby licences the West Coast Electric Power
Board, subject to the following conditions, to lay, construct,
put up, place, and use electric lines within the area of supply
described in the Schedule hereto.


CONDITIONS

  1. This licence may be cited as the West Coast Electric
    Power Board Lines Licence 1973.

  2. The conditions directed to be implied in all licences by
    the Electrical Supply Regulations 1967, and the Electrical
    Wiring Regulations 1961, shall be incorporated herein, and
    shall form part of this licence, except in so far as they may
    be inconsistent with the provisions of this licence.

  3. The licence hereby conferred is subject to compliance
    by the licensee with the Electrical Supply Regulations 1967,
    the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1961, the Radio Inter-
    ference Regulations 1958, and with all regulations made in
    amendment thereof or in substitution therefor, except in so
    far as they may be inconsistent with the provisions of this
    licence.

  4. The systems of supply shall be as described in paragraphs
    (a), (b), (c), (d), (e), and (f) of regulation 15 of the
    Electrical Supply Regulations 1967.

  5. This licence shall, unless it is sooner lawfully determined,
    continue in force for a period of 21 years from the 28th
    day of March 1973.

  6. The licence shall come into force on the 28th day of
    March 1973.


SCHEDULE

AREA OF SUPPLY

The West Coast Electric Power District as defined in the
Second Schedule to the Proclamation dated the 28th day of
March 1973 and published in the Gazette on the 12th day
of April 1973 at page 724.

Setting Apart Maori Freehold Land as a Maori Reservation

Pursuant to section 439 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953,
the Maori freehold land described in the Schedule hereto
is hereby set apart as a Maori reservation for the purpose
of a meeting place, dining room, and cultural centre for
the common use and benefit of Whanau-a-Kaiaio and other
Maori peoples of the district and their lawful visitors.
