FEATHERSTON BOROUGH COUNCIL

NOTICE OF SPECIAL ORDER

Sewage Treatment Loan 1973, $129,000

NOTICE is hereby given that at the special meeting of the Featherston Borough Council, held for the purpose on 20 September 1973, the following resolution was passed by special order:

The Resolution

In pursuance of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954, the Local Authority Loans Act 1956, and in pursuance of the sanction of the Local Authorities Loans Board of 7 August 1973, and all other powers enabling it, the Featherston Borough Council hereby resolves to proceed with the raising of the special loan of $129,000—to be known as the Featherston Borough Council Sewage Treatment Loan 1973.

The term of the loan shall be 30 years.

The rate of interest 6½ percent per annum.

A sinking loan shall be established at the rate of 1.51 percent per annum.

No interest, instalment of principal and interest, or payment to a sinking fund shall be paid outside New Zealand or out of loan money.

Brokerage shall not exceed ½ percent of the amount raised.

Underwriting commission or fees shall not exceed ½ percent of the amount underwritten.

Placement fee in respect of a placement by a single lender of not less than $20,000 shall not exceed ¾ percent for a term of 20 years or more, provided that no placement fee shall be payable in respect of an underwritten issue or any part thereof.

And notice is hereby given that the above resolution will be submitted for confirmation at a special meeting of Council to be held in the Borough Council Chambers, Fox Street, Featherston, on Thursday, 18 October 1973.

And further notice is given that a poll of the Featherston Borough ratepayers will be required to be taken if not less than 5 percent of those ratepayers so demand by writing under their hand, delivered or sent by post to the Featherston Borough Council, and received at the Borough Council office not later than 9 a.m. on the day fixed for the confirmation of the resolution to raise the special loan.

BOROUGH OF MOSGIEL

SPECIAL ORDER MAKING CONSOLIDATED SPECIAL RATE

RESOLVED that the following resolution carried at the meeting of the Mosgiel Borough Council held on Tuesday, 3 July 1973 be and the same is hereby confirmed:

"That in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by section 108A of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954 and all other powers in that behalf enabling it, the Mosgiel Borough Council resolves so that this resolution may be confirmed at a subsequent meeting of the Council and operate as a special order to make and levy an annual recurring consolidated special rate of two decimal nought five six cents (2.056c) in the dollar ($) upon the rateable value (on the basis of the land value) of all rateable property of the Borough of Mosgiel comprising the whole of the Borough of Mosgiel and that such consolidated special rate shall be made in substitution for the consolidated special rate of one decimal nine seven cents (1.97c) made and levied by special order dated the 16th day of December 1969, and for the special rate of one decimal one nought three cents (1.103c) in respect of the Sewage Treatment Extension Loan 1970 of $450,000; the special rate of decimal nought two two cents (0.022c) in respect of the Development Supplementary Loan 1971 of $9,000; the special rate of decimal three one seven cents (0.317c) in respect of the Development Loan 1972 of $130,000."

NOTICE is hereby given that Mr John Andrew Burns has retired from the partnership of Messieurs Atkinson, Dale, Ellingham, and Jenkins, Solicitors, Wellington, as from the 1st day of September 1973. The partnership will be carried on by the remaining partners, William Lloyd Ellingham, Samuel Richard Mason Jenkins, and Robert Adrian Ellingham, in the National Bank Building, Featherston Street, Wellington, as heretofore.

APPLICATION having been made by John Roger Lister Salisbury, of Box Hill North, Victoria, Australia, company director, for voluntary removal of his name from the rolls of barristers and solicitors of the Supreme Court of New Zealand, pursuant to section 38 of the Law Practitioners Act 1955, notice is hereby given that the Disciplinary Committee of the New Zealand Law Society on the 9th day of August 1973 ordered that the name of the said John Roger Lister Salisbury be removed from the rolls of barristers and solicitors accordingly.
