Exempting Land in Taranaki Land District From the Operation of Part III of the Coal Mines Act 1925

PURSUANT to section 171 of the Coal Mines Act 1925, I, Sir Edward Denis Blundell, the Governor-General of New Zealand, do hereby exempt the land described in the Schedule hereto from the operation of Part III of the said Act.

SCHEDULE

TARANAKI LAND DISTRICT—TAUMARUNUI COUNTY

SECTION 2, Block IX, Aria Survey District: area, 503.8336 hectares. All certificate of title, Volume 72, folio 5 (S.O. Plan 2792).

Part Section 2, Block XVI, Waro Survey District: area, 158.3175 hectares. Balance certificate of title, Volume 92, folio 99 (S.O. Plans 2545 and 7930).

Section 1, Block XIII, Ohura Survey District: area, 116.1447 hectares. All certificate of title, Volume 92, folio 100 (S.O. Plans 2545 and 7110).

All Taranaki Registry.

Save and excepting for Her Majesty the Queen all seams or beds of coal and all other minerals and metals, and reserving to Her Majesty the Queen and all persons legally entitled to work the said coal, minerals, and metals, a right of ingress, egress, and regress under the said land.

Plan 6002), save and excepting for Her Majesty the Queen all seams or beds of coal and all other minerals and metals, and reserving to Her Majesty the Queen and all persons legally entitled to work the said coal, minerals, and metals, a right of ingress, egress, and regress under the said land.

Save and excepting for Her Majesty the Queen all seams or beds of coal and all other minerals and metals, and reserving to Her Majesty the Queen and all persons legally entitled to work the said coal, minerals, and metals, a right of ingress, egress, and regress under the said land.

As shown on the plan deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey at Wellington, and thereon edged red (S.O. Plans 3891, 3898, 3931, 5079, 5865, and Roll 1/52).

Save and excepting for Her Majesty the Queen all seams or beds of coal and all other minerals and metals, and reserving to Her Majesty the Queen and all persons legally entitled to work the said coal, minerals, and metals, a right of ingress, egress, and regress under the said land.

PURSUANT to section 35 of the Defence Act 1971, His Excellency the Governor-General has approved the following appointments, promotions, extensions, transfers, resignations, and retirements of officers of the New Zealand Naval Forces:

ROYAL NEW ZEALAND NAVY

Lieutenant Commander George Alfred Hannan, M.B.E., reverts to the Retired List with effect from 7 September 1973.

The appointment of Lieutenant Commander N. C. G. Peach is extended to 8 January 1979.

The appointment of Lieutenant Commander P. H. Thompson is extended to 21 February 1978.

Lieutenant (temp. Lieutenant Commander) J. M. Halliday, L.T.C.L., to be Lieutenant Commander with seniority and effect from 1 September 1973.

Lieutenant Christopher Philip Tomlin is placed on the Emergency List of the RNZN with effect from 28 August 1973.

Lieutenant George Moore Barton is placed on the Emergency List of the RNZN with effect from 29 August 1973.
