Vesting Reclaimed Land in the City of Manukau

At the Government House at Wellington this 13th day of August 1973
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to section 175B (2) of the Harbours Act 1950, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby vests in the Manukau City Council the land described in the Schedule hereto, which land was authorised for reclamation by Orders in Council of 16 May 1962* and 8 April 1968†, such land to be vested as recreation reserve pursuant to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953.
SCHEDULE
BOTH those pieces of reclaimed Crown foreshore at Turanga Creek, situated in Block VIII, Otahuhu Survey District, containing 4 acres and 16 perches, and 1 acre and 37 perches as shown edged red on plan S.O. 47136.
The District Land Registrar is hereby authorised to make such entries in his register as are necessary to give effect to this order.

Exempting Land in Taranaki Land District from the Operation of Part III of the Coal Mines Act 1925

PURSUANT to section 171 of the Coal Mines Act 1925, I, Sir Edward Denis Blundell, the Governor-General of New Zealand, do hereby exempt the land described in the Schedule hereto from the operation of Part III of the said Act.
SCHEDULE
ALL that area of land containing 1,450 acres, more or less, being part of State Forest No. 55, situated in Blocks XII and XVI, Waro Survey District, in the Taranaki Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan numbered S.O. 8639 deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor at New Plymouth, and thereon edged red.
Save and excepting for Her Majesty the Queen all seams or beds of coal and all other minerals and metals, and reserving to Her Majesty the Queen and all persons legally entitled to work the said coal, minerals, and metals, a right of ingress, egress, and regress under the said land.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General this 7th day of August 1973.

Appointments, Promotions, Extensions, Transfers, Resignations, and Retirements of Officers of the Royal New Zealand Navy
PURSUANT to section 35 of the Defence Act 1971, His Excellency the Governor-General has approved the following appointments, promotions, extensions, transfers, resignations, and retirements of officers of the New Zealand Naval Forces:
ROYAL NEW ZEALAND NAVY
Commander J. W. H. F. Dickie O.B.E., is appointed Provost Marshal of the Royal New Zealand Navy with effect from 30 April 1973, vice Commander R. G. Adams who is retired.
Commander Robert Gillespie Adams, A.C.A., A.C.I.S., is placed on the Retired List with effect from 13 July 1973.
Lieutenant Commander Frederick George James Arnold (RN Rtd.), is placed on the Retired List with effect from 25 July 1973.
Lieutenant Commander J. A. B. Lewis to be temp. Commander with effect from 16 July 1973.
Peter Turpie, B.SC.(ENG.), DIP.ED., is reappointed to the RNZN on a permanent commission in the rank of Instructor Lieutenant Commander, with seniority from 16 September 1971 and effect from 16 July 1973.
Lieutenant Commander Peter Richard Evelyn Brown is placed on the Retired List with effect from 8 June 1973.
The appointment of Lieutenant P. J. Davey is extended to 26 January 1978.
Ensign (acting Sub Lieutenant) M. N. Franklin, B.A., to be Sub Lieutenant, with seniority from 13 January 1973 and effect from 29 June 1973.
Ensign M. J. Selby to be temp. Sub Lieutenant with effect from 5 July 1973.
The appointment of Midshipman Antony Gordon Skipper is terminated with effect from 22 June 1973.
The appointment of Midshipman Trevor John Tangye is terminated with effect from 16 June 1973.
John Christopher Mark Howell (RN Rtd.), is placed on the Retired List of the RNZN and employed on the Supplementary List as Lieutenant Commander, with seniority from 16 March 1951 and effect from 23 July 1973, for a period terminating on 22 April 1977.
Richard Norman Lyon is reappointed to the RNZN (Supplementary List), in the rank of Lieutenant Commander, with seniority and effect from 16 July 1973, his appointment to be for purposes of time only.
William Hancock, C.ENG., A.M.I.MAR.E., is appointed to the RNZN, (Special Duties List) for a period terminating on 3 October 1978, in the rank of Lieutenant, with seniority from 8 November 1969 and effect from 20 July 1973.
WOMEN’S ROYAL NEW ZEALAND NAVAL SERVICE
Third Officer (temp. Second Officer) P. O. R. Ramsay-Turner to be Second Officer with seniority and effect from 19 June 1973.
ROYAL NEW ZEALAND NAVAL VOLUNTEER RESERVE
Lieutenant Commander Cecil Barrington Thompson, V.R.D., M.I.N., A.N.Z.I.M., is placed on the Retired List of the RNZNVR with effect from 4 August 1973.
