This order may be cited as the Municipal Insurance Empowering Order 1973.

Consent is hereby given to the exercise by the New Zealand Municipalities Co-operative Insurance Co. Ltd. of such of the powers conferred by paragraph 8 of clause II of its Memorandum of Association as will enable the company to carry on the business of insurance (excluding the business of insurance upon human life and the business of granting annuities upon human life) in respect of the employees and members of those local authorities and bodies in respect of which the company is empowered to carry on the business of insurance.
