Authorising the Manukau City Council to Reclaim Auckland Harbour Board Endowment Land in Manukau Harbour

Pursuant to section 175 (2) of the Harbours Act 1950, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby authorises the Manukau City Council to reclaim from the Manukau Harbour an area of 5 acres O roods 0 perches, more or less; as shown on plan M.D. 14713 and deposited in the office of the Ministry of Transport at Wellington.

The Rotorua Jury Lists Order 1973

Pursuant to section 48 of the Juries Act 1908, I, Sir Edward Denis Blundell, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby make the following order.
ORDER
-
Title—This order may be cited as the Rotorua Jury Lists Order 1973.

Application of Act—The first jury lists and jury books for the new jury district of which the City of Rotorua is the Court town shall be provided and prepared in the year 1973 in accordance with the Juries Act 1908, except that for the purpose of the preparation of those lists and books and for that occasion only,
(a) Section 18 of the Juries Act 1908 (as substituted by section 5 of the Juries Amendment Act 1963) shall be read as if for the words “seventh day of September” in subsection (1) there were substituted the words “26th day of July”;
(b) Section 19 of the Juries Act 1908 (as substituted by section 4 of the Juries Amendment Act 1966) shall be read as if for the words “tenth day of October” in subsection (1) there were substituted the words “7th day of August” and as if for the words “ten days” in subsection (2) of that section there were substituted the words “7 days”;
(c) Section 24 of the Juries Act 1908 (as amended by section 6 (1) of the Juries Amendment Act 1963) shall be read as if for the words “twenty-third day of October” there were substituted the words “17th day of August”.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General this 17th day of July 1973.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.
This order provides for the preparation of the first jury lists and jury books for the new Rotorua Jury District. The first sittings of the Supreme Court at Rotorua have been appointed and will begin on 15 October 1973. The new jury books will be available for those sittings as they will, in accordance with section 49 of the Act, be brought into use immediately after they have been made out by the Sheriff.
Exempting Land in the Westland Land District from the Operation of Part III of the Coal Mines Act 1925

Pursuant to section 171 of the Coal Mines Act 1925, I, Sir Edward Denis Blundell, the Governor-General of New Zealand, do hereby exempt the land described in the Schedule hereto from operation of Part III of the said Act.

WESTLAND LAND DISTRICT—GREY COUNTY
SECTION 18, Town of Dobson, situated in Block X, Arnold Survey District: area, 1 rood (1011 square metres), more or less. Part deeds index M.S. 300, and all certificate of title, Volume 3B, folio 1236, limited as to parcels (leasehold) (S.O. Plan 8896).
Save and excepting for Her Majesty the Queen all seams or beds of coal and all other minerals and metals, and reserving to Her Majesty the Queen and all other persons legally entitled to work the said coal, minerals, and metals, a right of ingress, egress, and regress under the said land.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General this 12th day of July 1973.

Lieutenant-Colonel (temp. Colonel) R. K. G. Porter, O.B.E., to be Colonel, and is transferred to the Colonels’ List with seniority and effect from 5 March 1973.
Captain John Stamford Morton Tulloch is posted to the Retired List with effect from 2 April 1973.
ROYAL N.Z. ARMOURED CORPS
Captain W. J. Scott to be temp. Major with effect from 14 May 1973.
Lieutenant (temp. Captain) R. K. Storey to be Captain with seniority and effect from 11 December 1972.
THE CORPS OF ROYAL N.Z. ENGINEERS
Major Peter Jon Skogstad, A.N.Z.I.M., is posted to the Retired List with effect from 22 March 1973.

The appointment of Brigadier W. R. K. Morrison, D.S.O., O.B.E., Reserve of Officers, General List, Royal N.Z. Infantry Regiment, as Honorary Colonel 1 RNZIR, is extended for 1 year with effect from 1 April 1973.
Captain James Frank Hargest is posted to the Retired List with effect from 24 March 1973.
Lieutenant (temp. Captain) G. W. Jackson to be Captain with seniority and effect from 25 May 1973.
Lieutenant (temp. Captain) J. R. Sherriff to be Captain with seniority and effect from 8 January 1973.
