  1. Title and commencement—(1) This order may be cited as the Police Salary Order (No. 2) 1973.
    (2) This order shall be deemed to have come into force on the 1st day of April 1972.

  2. Salary of Assistant Commissioner acting as deputy of Commissioner—The salary of an Assistant Commissioner of Police who acts as the deputy of the Commissioner of Police shall be as follows:

(a) Yearly rate of salary on and from the 1st day of April 1972 $12,530:
(b) Yearly rate of salary on and from the 26th day of October 1972 $12,881.

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby directs the sale of the land described in the Schedule hereto, such land being no longer required for the purpose for which it was acquired.

PURSUANT to section 35 of the Defence Act 1971, His Excellency the Governor-General has approved the following appointments, promotions, extensions, transfers, resignations, and retirements of officers of the New Zealand Army:

REGULAR FORCE
ROYAL REGIMENT OF N.Z. ARTILLERY
Major V. J. Duley, M.C., is transferred to the Supernumerary List on reaching retiring age for rank with effect from 30 November 1972, and his engagement is extended until 30 November 1973.

ROYAL N.Z. ARMY SERVICE CORPS
Lieutenant (temp. Captain) A. R. Dixon to be Captain with seniority and effect from 1 January 1973.

ROYAL N.Z. ARMY ORDNANCE CORPS
2nd Lieutenant Allan Charles Lash is re-engaged until 9 June 1979.

ROYAL N.Z. ELECTRICAL AND MECHANICAL ENGINEERS
Supernumerary List
Captain and Quartermaster Arthur Stanley Green is posted to the Retired List with effect from 27 February 1973.

ROYAL N.Z. DENTAL CORPS
Captain Ian Richard Collins, B.D.S., is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, General List, Royal N.Z. Dental Corps, in the rank of Captain, with effect from 21 February 1973.
Lieutenant Brian John Tracey, B.D.S., is posted to the Retired List with effect from 13 January 1973.

Charge Sister Theresa Margaret Paull resigns her commission with effect from 27 January 1973.
Isobel Maureen Glasgow is appointed to a commission in the rank of Sister, with seniority from 1 February 1969 and effect from 1 November 1972.

2nd Lieutenant L. Campbell to be Lieutenant with seniority and effect from 4 March 1973.

2nd Lieutenant Murray Warwick Holt is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, General List, the Corps of Royal N.Z. Engineers, in the rank of 2nd Lieutenant, with effect from 4 September 1972.
The commission of 2nd Lieutenant (on prob.) John Hugh McTavish lapses with effect from 1 January 1973.
