PURSUANT to the Water and Soil Conservation Act 1967, and the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act 1941, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby amends the Rangitikei-Wanganui Catchment District Order 1972 made on the 20th day of March 1972, and published in the Gazette on the 29th day of March 1972 at page 668, by deleting the area described in the Second Schedule of the said order and substituting the area described in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE
FIRSTLY, all that area in the Wellington, South Auckland, and Taranaki Land Districts comprising the Borough of Taumarunui, the Town District of Ohura, and parts of the Counties of Stratford, Clifton, Taumarunui, Waitomo, Otorohanga, and Taupo, and containing 4,900 square kilometres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at Trig. Station Whakaihuwaka (Mount Humphries) in Block III, Taurakawa S.D., and proceeding north-easterly along a right line in the direction of the confluence of the Tangarakau and Wanganui Rivers in Block XII, Mahoe S.D., to the middle of the Wanganui River; thence up the middle of the Wanganui River to the southern boundary of Block XIII, Retaruke S.D.; thence generally easterly along that boundary, the western boundary of Section 2, Block I, Whirinaki S.D., the north-western and north-eastern boundaries of Section 1, Block I, Whirinaki S.D., along a right line across Te Mata Road, to and along the northern boundaries of Sections 2 and 3, Block II, Whirinaki S.D., and Section 11, Block III, Whirinaki S.D., to a point in line with the northern boundary of Section 9, Block III, aforesaid, to and along the northern and eastern boundaries of the said Section 9, the north-eastern boundary of Section 8, Block III, aforesaid, the northern boundaries of Sections 7 and 6, Block IV, Whirinaki S.D., the north-western and northern boundaries of Section 3, Block IV, Whirinaki S.D., and their production to the middle of Maungaroa Road, along the middle of that road to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Section 9, Block XIII, Kaitieke S.D., and to and along that boundary to the western boundary of Lot 1 of Section 3, Block XIII, aforesaid; thence generally south-easterly along the south-western boundaries of the said Lot 1 and Section 5, Block XIII, aforesaid, the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle of Kokako Road, along the middle of that road to a point in line with the
southern boundary of Section 8, Block XIII, aforesaid, to and along that boundary to the middle of Ruatiti Stream, down the middle of that stream to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Lot 2 of Section 3, Block II, Manganui S.D., to and along that boundary to the north-western side of Ruatiti-Erua Road, due south along a right line to the middle of that road, along the middle of that road to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Section 3, Block I, Manganui S.D., to and along that boundary and the northern and south-western boundaries of Section 4, Block II, Manganui S.D., the south-western boundaries of Sections 1 and 2, Block VI, Manganui S.D., the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle of Makino Road, along the middle of that road to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Section 4, Block VI, aforesaid, to and along the south-western and south-eastern boundaries of the said Section 4, the south-western boundary of Section 24, Block VII, Manganui S.D., and its production to the middle of Raetihi-Waimarino Road, along the middle of that road to a point in line with the southern boundary of Section 24, Block XI, Manganui S.D., and to and along that boundary and its production to the middle of the Manganuiateao River; thence easterly up the middle of that river to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Lot 2 of Section 18, Block VIII, Manganui S.D.; thence due north along a right line to the middle of the Makatote River; thence easterly up the middle of that river to its source and along a right line to Trig. Station I (Te Kohatu), and along right lines to Trig. Station H (Paretetaitonga), and to Trig. Station D (Matihao) in Block XI, Ruapehu S.D.; thence generally northerly, south-westerly, and southerly along the boundaries of Rangitikei-Wanganui Catchment District as described in Gazette, 1972, p. 668, to the point of commencement.

Validating Irregularity in Connection with Special Meeting of Mangonui County Council

THE special meeting held by the Mangonui County Council on 1 February 1973 is hereby validated and the business conducted at that meeting is hereby declared to have been lawfully conducted, notwithstanding that written notice of the time and place of the meeting and of the business to be brought before the meeting was not given in terms of section 86 of the Counties Act 1956.
