Appointment and Revocation of Customs Container Base in New Zealand

———

PURSUANT to section 32 of the Customs Act 1966 as amended by section 4 of the Customs Amendment Act 1968, I, Jack Alexander McLeod Kean, Comptroller of Customs, hereby appoint the place described in the First Schedule hereto to be a Customs container base for the reception, examination, or protection of goods that are subject to the control of the Customs and are carried or to be carried in bulk cargo containers, and hereby revoke the appointment* of the place described in the Second Schedule hereto as a container base for the purpose of that Act.

FIRST SCHEDULE

Situation

On the Thorndon Reclamation adjacent to Fryatt Quay.

Description

All that parcel of land containing an area of 13.87699 acres, more or less, as shown outlined in red on Wellington Harbour Board Plan No. S. 1454 deposited with the Comptroller of Customs and being:

(a) Part of that parcel of land containing 28 acres 1 rood 16.1 perches, more or less, situate in Block VII of the Port Nicholson Survey District and being Section 24 of the said block and being all the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Volume 991, folio 10 (Wellington Registry).

(b) Part of Lot 1, Deposited Plan 7469, and being also part of the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Volume B3, folio 681 (Wellington Registry).

SECOND SCHEDULE

Situation

On the Thorndon Reclamation adjacent to Fryatt Quay and Container Berth No. 2, Wellington.

Description

The area of land, comprised of 8.64899 acres, contained within the red lines drawn on Harbour Board Plan No. 5608, dated 24 March 1970, and deposited with the Customs Department, including the buildings thereon; viz, the premises and No. 2 back-up area occupied by Maritime Container Terminals Ltd.
