The Overseas Takeovers Exemption Notice 1973, No. 2

PURSUANT to the Overseas Takeovers Regulations 1964, the Minister of Finance hereby gives the following notice.

NOTICE

1. Title—This notice may be cited as the Overseas Takeovers Exemption Notice 1973, No. 2.

2. Exempting Certain Companies from the Overseas Takeovers Regulations 1964—There is hereby exempted from all the requirements of the Overseas Takeovers Regulations 1964* any offeror that is a company within the meaning of the Companies Act 1955, and is an overseas person within the meaning of paragraph (c) of the definition of that term in regulation 2 (1) of those regulations, but which would not be an overseas person if the shares in the company registered in the name of any of the companies or insurance offices mentioned in the Schedule hereto were held by persons who are not overseas persons.

3. Revocation—The notice exempting certain companies from the Overseas Takeovers Regulations 1964, dated the 11th day of May 1973†, is hereby revoked.

Declaration That Land is a Public Reserve

PURSUANT to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the Minister of Lands hereby notifies that the following resolution was passed by the Waipawa Borough Council on the 9th day of April 1953:

“That, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 13 of the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the Waipawa Borough Council hereby resolves that the piece of land held by the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the said Borough, in fee simple, and described in the Schedule hereto, shall be and the same is hereby declared to be a public reserve for recreation within the meaning of the said Act.”
