Import Control Exemption Notice (No. 29) 1973

PURSUANT to regulation 17 of the Import Control Regulations 1973*, the Minister of Trade and Industry hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. (a) This notice may be cited as the Import Control Exemption Notice (No. 29) 1973.

(b) This notice shall come into force on the day after the date of its notification in the New Zealand Gazette.

  1. Goods of the class specified and for the purposes of the Customs Tariff falling within the Tariff items in the First Schedule hereto, imported from and being the produce or manufacture of any country, are hereby exempted from the requirement of a licence under the said regulations.

  2. The exemptions from the requirement of a licence under the said regulations in respect of the goods of the class set forth in the Second Schedule hereto, included in the exempting notice shown in the Second Schedule, are hereby withdrawn.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This note is not part of the notice, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This notice exempts from import control hydrochloric acid, sulphuric acid, oleum, other than C.P., B.P., and laboratory grades, nitric acid and sulphonic acids.

The Capital Issues Consent Notice 1973, No. 2

PURSUANT to the Capital Issues (Overseas) Regulations 1965, the Minister of Finance hereby gives the following notice.

NOTICE

  1. Title—This notice may be cited as the Capital Issues Consent Notice 1973, No. 2.

  2. Consent to Borrowing or Raising of Money in New Zealand by Certain Companies—Consent is hereby granted to the exercise by any company within the meaning of the Companies Act 1953 that is an overseas person within the meaning of paragraph (c) of regulations 3A (2) of the Capital Issues (Overseas) Regulations 1965*, but which would not be an overseas person if the shares in the company registered in the name of any of the companies or insurance offices mentioned in the Schedule hereto were held by persons who are not overseas persons of the following powers, namely:

(a) The power to borrow money in New Zealand;

(b) The power to raise money in New Zealand by the issue, whether in New Zealand or elsewhere, of any shares in the company;

(c) The power to make any call in respect of any shares issued by the company to a person ordinarily resident in New Zealand.

  1. Revocation—The notice consenting to the issue of capital by certain companies, dated the 11th day of May 1973†, is hereby revoked.
