NOTICE is hereby given by direction of the Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries that, pursuant to section 5A of the Animal Remedies Act 1967, His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint

Alexander Campbell Begg (on the nomination of the Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries)

to be Chairman of the Animal Remedies Board for a term of 3 years 1 January 1974, vice Mr D. N. Webb.

Government Railways Appeal Board—Appointment of Member

PURSUANT to subsection 4 (b) of section 91 of the Government Railways Act 1949, the Minister of Railways has appointed Mr George Edward Carpenter, Assistant District Traffic Manager, Administration, District Traffic Manager’s Office, Wellington, as a member of the Government Railways Appeal Board from and including 1 January 1974 until and including 31 December 1975 in all appeals by or against employees in the New Zealand Government Railways.

Notice of Intention to Take Land in the Town of Midhirst West for an Automatic Telephone Exchange

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928, to take for an automatic telephone exchange the land described in the Schedule hereto, such land to be used for the erection of an automatic telephone exchange building; and notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post office at Midhirst and is there open for inspection; that all persons directly affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any objection to the taking of the said land, not being an objection to the amount or payment of compensation, make a written objection and send it within 40 days after the first publication of this notice to the Town and Country Planning Appeal Board at Wellington; and that, if any objection is made in accordance with this notice, a public hearing of the objection will be held, unless the objector otherwise requires, and each objector will be advised of the time and place of the hearing.
