The Traffic (Wanganui City, Wanganui County, and Waitotara County) Notice 1973

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby gives the following notice.

———

NOTICE

  1. This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Wanganui City, Wanganui County, and Waitotara County) Notice 1973.

  2. The roads specified in the First Schedule hereto are hereby excluded from the limitation as to speed imposed by section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

  3. The roads specified in the Second Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be closely populated localities for the purposes of section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

  4. The roads specified in the Third Schedule hereto are hereby declared to 40-miles-an-hour speed limit areas for the purposes of regulation 27A of the Traffic Regulations 1956*.

  5. So much of the notice under section 3 of the Motor Vehicles Amendment Act 1936, dated the 23rd day of December 1937†, which relates to the Auckland-Wellington via Taranaki Main Highway No. 1 in Wanganui County, is hereby revoked.

  6. The notice under section 52 of the Transport Act 1962 and regulation 27 of the Traffic Regulations 1956* dated the 26th day of June 1963‡, which relates to Springvale Road in Waitotara County, is hereby revoked.

  7. The notice under section 52 of the Transport Act 1962 and regulation 27 of the Traffic Regulations 1956* dated the 20th day of October 1964§, which relates to Addenbrook Terrace and Peakes Avenue in Waitotara County, is hereby revoked.

  8. The Traffic (Wanganui City, Wanganui County, and Waitotara County) Notice No. 1, 1969 dated the 21st day of October 1969∥ under section 52 of the Transport Act 1962 and regulation 27 of the Traffic Regulations 1956*, is hereby revoked.

FIRST SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Wanganui City:

Brunswick Road (from the north-western boundary of Wanganui City to a point 360 metres measured north-westerly generally along the said road from Weka Street).

Kaikokopu Road (from the north-western boundary of Wanganui City to Ward Street).

SECOND SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Waitotara County adjacent to Wanganui City:

Virginia Road (from a point 40 metres measured westerly generally along Virginia Road from the north-western boundary of Wanganui City to the said boundary).

SITUATED within Wanganui County adjacent to Wanganui City:

No. 2 Line (from the eastern boundary of Wanganui City to a point 160 metres measured easterly generally along the said line from the said boundary).

No. 4 State Highway (Te Kuiti-Wanganui via Raetihi) (from the southern boundary of Wanganui City to a point 53 chains measured southerly generally along the said State highway from the said boundary).

Anaua Street.

Hori-King Street.

Kemp Street.

Takarangi Street.

Wikitoria Road (from the No. 4 State Highway (Te Kuiti-Wanganui via Raetihi) to a point 1120 metres measured south-westerly generally along the said road from the Wanganui Metropolitan Motorway).

THIRD SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Waitotara County adjacent to Wanganui City:

No. 3 State Highway (Hamilton-Woodville via New Plymouth) (from a point 140 metres measured easterly generally along the said State highway from Pickwick Road to the north-western boundary of Wanganui City).

Virginia Road (from the No. 3 State Highway (Hamilton-Woodville via New Plymouth) to a point 40 metres measured westerly generally along Virginia Road from the north-western boundary of Wanganui City).

The Traffic (Grey County) Notice No. 1, 1973

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby gives the following notice.

NOTICE

  1. This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Grey County) Notice No. 1, 1973.

  2. The roads specified in the First Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be closely populated localities for the purposes of section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

  3. The road specified in the Second Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be a limited speed zone for the purposes of regulation 27 of the Traffic Regulations 1956.

  4. The road specified in the Third Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be a 40-mile-an-hour speed limit area for the purposes of regulation 27A of the Traffic Regulations 1956.

  5. The notice under section 52 of the Transport Act 1962 and regulations 27 and 27A of the Transport Regulations 1956, dated the 14th day of September 1971*, is hereby revoked.

No. 6 State Highway (Blenheim-Invercargill via Nelson and Greymouth) (from the southern boundary of Greymouth Borough to Weenink Road).

Tasman Street (from the southern boundary of Greymouth Borough to a point 140 metres measured southerly generally along Tasman Street, from Kowhai Street).

SITUATED with Grey County at Moana:

Stillwater-Ruru Road (from Beach Street to a point 320 metres measured northerly generally along the Stillwater-Ruru Road from Beach Street).

Beach Street (from the Stillwater-Ruru Road to a point 810 metres measured westerly generally along Beach Street from the Stillwater-Ruru Road).

SECOND SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Grey County at Southbeach:

No. 6 State Highway (Blenheim-Invercargill via Nelson and Greymouth) (from the access road to Southbeach Railway Station to a point 9 chains measured south-westerly generally along the said State highway from Power Road).

THIRD SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Grey County at Karoro:

No. 6 State Highway (Blenheim-Invercargill via Nelson and Greymouth) (from Weenink Road to a point 9 chains measured south-westerly generally along the said State highway from Power Road).
