Constitution of the Geraldine-Temuka Hydatids Control District (No. 620 Ag. 21171)

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL PURSUANT to the Hydatids Act 1968, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council hereby makes the following order.

ORDER

  1. (a) This order may be cited at the Geraldine-Temuka Hydatids Control District Order 1973.
    (b) This order shall come into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.

  2. The areas comprising the County of Geraldine and the Boroughs of Temuka and Geraldine, as from time to time constituted, are hereby declared to be united to form an hydatids control district to be called the Geraldine-Temuka Hydatids Control District.

  3. The Geraldine-Temuka Joint Hydatids Committee is hereby appointed the hydatids control authority for the Geraldine-Temuka Hydatids Control District.

Appointment of Harbourmaster, Doubtful Sound

WATT PRESIDING IN COUNCIL PURSUANT to sections 6 and 42 of the Harbours Act 1950, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the executive Council, hereby appoints Edgar Gerald Boyack

to be Harbourmaster for Doubtful Sound Harbour.

Defining Harbour Limits at Doubtful Sound

DENIS BLUNDELL, Governor-General ORDER IN COUNCIL At the Government Buildings at Wellington this 12th day of November 1973 Present: THE HON. H. WATT PRESIDING IN COUNCIL PURSUANT to the Harbours Act 1950, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby defines the limits of the harbour at Doubtful Sound to be all that area of water of Doubtful and Thompson Sounds inside straight lines drawn from Shanks Head to Colonial Head on Secretary Island, and from south-west point on Secretary Island to Febrero Point.

Exempting Land in Westland Land District From the Operation of Part III of the Coal Mines Act 1925

DENIS BLUNDELL, Governor-General PURSUANT to section 171 of the Coal Mines Act 1925, I, Sir Edward Denis Blundell, the Governor-General of New Zealand, do hereby exempt the land described in the Schedule hereto from the operation of Part III of the said Act.

SCHEDULE

WESTLAND LAND DISTRICT—GREY COUNTY RURAL Section 430, and parts Rural Section 573, situated in Block X, Arnold Survey District: area, 6 acres 2 roods 20.7 perches (2.6828 hectares), more or less. All certificates of title, Volume 2B, folio 1196, and Volume 1A, folio 24 (S.O. Plans 2782 and 4897).

Save and excepting for Her Majesty the Queen all seams or beds of coal and all other minerals and metals, and reserving to Her Majesty the Queen and all persons legally entitled to work the said coal, minerals and metals, a right of ingress, egress, and regress under the said land.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General this 30th day of October 1973.

Appointments, Promotions, Extensions, Transfers, Resignations, and Retirements of Officers of the Royal New Zealand Navy

PURSUANT to section 35 of the Defence Act 1971, His Excellency the Governor-General has approved the following appointments, promotions, extensions, transfers, resignations, and retirements of officers of the New Zealand Naval Forces:

ROYAL NEW ZEALAND NAVY

The appointment of Commodore J. F. McKenzie, O.B.E., A.D.C., is extended to 30 June 1977.

Commander G. A. Lawrence to be acting Captain with effect from 15 October 1973, and temp. Captain with effect from 19 October 1973.

Commander N. R. Win to be acting Captain with effect from 3 August 1973.

Lieutenant Commander (temp. Commander) I. W. Munro to be Commander with seniority and effect from 19 October 1973.

Lieutenant Commander C. J. Carl to be temp. Commander with effect from 19 October 1973.

Lieutenant Commander K. I. Bradbury: with reference to the notice published in the Gazette, 7 June 1973, No. 54, p. 1060, for “7 January 1979” substitute “7 January 1978”. The appointment of Lieutenant Commander J. W. Jennings is extended to 13 August 1977.

Lieutenant Commander Denis Philip Milton (Rtd.) reverts to the Retired List of the RNZN with effect from 12 November 1973.

The appointment of Lieutenant Commander F. G. George is extended to 21 November 1981.

Lieutenant K. F. Wilson to be acting Lieutenant Commander with effect from 9 July 1973, temp. Lieutenant Commander with effect from 16 July 1973, and Lieutenant Commander with seniority and effect from 16 September 1973.

Lieutenant J. G. Leonard to be Lieutenant Commander with seniority and effect from 1 October 1973.

Lieutenant K. C. Body, C.ENG., M.R.I.N.A., to be Lieutenant Commander with seniority and effect from 25 September 1973.

The appointment of Lieutenant C. L. Stewart, GRAD.I.E.R.E., is extended to 25 December 1988.

Lieutenant (temp. Lieutenant Commander) J. Duff to be Lieutenant Commander with seniority and effect from 17 October 1973.

Lieutenant E. A. Craig to be temp. Lieutenant Commander with effect from 15 October 1973.

The appointment of Lieutenant A. W. Bullock is extended to 6 September 1991.

The appointment of Lieutenant B. C. Petley is extended to 26 January 1978.

The appointment of Lieutenant D. J. Davidson is extended to 2 June 1991.

The appointment of Lieutenant Michael Aylward Smith is terminated and he is placed on the RNZN Emergency List with effect from 9 October 1973.

Sub Lieutenant R. T. Jackson, B.SC., to be temp. Lieutenant with effect from 8 July 1973.

Sub Lieutenant W. Rathbun to be Lieutenant with seniority and effect from 8 November 1973.

David Lloyd Beresford Marriott is appointed to a short-service commission in the RNZN for a period of 8 years in the rank of Lieutenant (on prob.) with seniority from 31 December 1971 and effect from 31 October 1973.

Anthony Chadwick, V15958. CPO Wtr., to be Lieutenant (on prob.) (Special Duties List), with seniority from 1 June 1973, on appointment to the RNZN for a period terminating on 12 March 1985, with effect from 6 August 1973.
