Exemption From Seat Belts For Goods-service Vehicles Being Aveling-Barford 100 Dumper and Wrigley Dumper Vehicles

PURSUANT to regulation 25A of the Traffic Regulations 1956*, the Secretary for Transport hereby exempts Aveling-Barford 100 Dumper and Wrigley Dumper vehicles from the requirements of regulation 51B of the said regulations relating to seat belts.

Amendment to Declaration of Infected Area Under Forest Disease Control Regulations 1967—Pine Needle Blight (Dothistroma pini)

THE following amendment to declaration made under regulation 7 of the Forest Disease Control Regulations 1967 is hereby published in accordance with regulation 6 of the said regulations.

THE FOREST DISEASE CONTROL REGULATIONS 1967

AMENDMENT TO DECLARATION OF “INFECTED AREA” IN RESPECT OF PINE NEEDLE BLIGHT (Dothistroma pini)

PURSUANT to the Forest Disease Control Regulations 1967, I, Allan Priestley Thomson, Director-General of Forests, Wellington, hereby amend the Declaration of Infected Area in respect of the forest disease pine needle blight (Dothistroma pini) that came into force on the 5th day of September 1967, as published in the Gazette of the 21st day of September 1967 and amended first by an amendment that came into force on the 23rd day of November 1967, as published in the Gazette of the 14th day of December 1967, secondly by an amendment that came into force on the 5th day of March 1969, as published in the Gazette of the 27th day of March 1969, and thirdly by an amendment that came into force on the 24th day of December 1971, as published in the Gazette of the 13th day of April 1972, as follows:

  1. Subparagraphs 1 (a) to (h) (as so amended) inclusive are hereby deleted and the following subparagraphs are substituted therefor:

“(a) All of the Land Districts of the North Island, including all outlying Islands, but excluding the Counties of Mangonui and Great Barrier and the Borough of Kaitaia.

“(b) Those parts of the Nelson and Marlborough Land Districts, situated in the Waimea, Golden Bay, Inangahua, and Buller Counties, and that portion of Marlborough County bounded by the coastline from the point where the eastern boundary of the Waimea County meets the sea, to Rarangi, including D’Urville Island; thence in a southerly and westerly direction generally along the western and northern sides of the Rarangi-Tuamarina Road to Tuamarina; thence in a south-westerly direction generally along the northern side of the Kaituna-Tuamarina Road to its junction with National State Highway No. 6; thence in a north-westerly direction generally along the eastern side of the said State Highway to Okaramio; thence in a direct line in a westerly direction to Mount Riley; thence in a south-westerly direction generally along the main dividing ridge of the Mount Richmond Range to Ada Flat on the common Waimea and Marlborough County boundary.

“(c) That part of the Land District of Westland situated in Grey County, and that portion of Westland, north of the Poerua River, Poerua Glacier, and County Garden of Eden Ice Plateau.”

  1. Subparagraph 2 (c) is hereby deleted and the following paragraph is substituted therefor:

“(c) From any place or site within the above-described infected area to any other place or site within the infected area with the exception of the bringing or removal of all species of pine, Douglas fir, and larch from the under-mentioned areas into other parts of the infected area, such under-mentioned areas being the following:

“(i) The whole of the Land District of Taranaki.

“(ii) The whole of the Land District of South Auckland.

“(iii) That part of the Land District of North Auckland situated generally south and east of the following line, namely, a line commencing at the mouth of the Waikato River and following generally north-eastwards along the northern boundary of Raglan County to a right line crossing the Waikato River at right angles to its course to the junction of its east bank with the south bank of the Mangatawhiri River; thence generally eastwards along the south bank of the last-mentioned river to State Highway No. 1 and thence, following generally northwards along the western side of State Highway No. 1, to its intersection with the North Island Main Trunk railway line just south of Drury; thence generally north along the western side of the aforementioned railway line to the southern boundary of the Borough of Papakura; thence generally east, north, and then west along the boundary of the said borough to its intersection with the west side of Dominion Road; thence along the western side of the aforementioned road to the intersection with the Papakura-Clevedon Road; thence generally north-eastwards along the north-west side of the last-mentioned road to its intersection with Mullins Road; thence generally north-westwards along the western side of Mullins Road and of its continuation with Alfriston Road to Manurewa Road, to Brookby School; thence generally north and north-westwards along the western side of the Brookby-Whitford Road to the Turanga Creek; and thence generally northwards along the east bank of the said creek to Tamaki Strait.

“(iv) Those parts of the Land District of Gisborne situated in Opotiki and Whakatane Counties.

“(v) Those parts of the Land District of Hawke’s Bay situated in the portion of Wairoa County south of the Mohaka River, the whole of Hawke’s Bay, and Waipawa Counties.

“(vi) The whole of the Land District of Wellington, excluding the Counties of Pahiatua, Eketahuna, Akitio, Masterton, Wairarapa South, and Featherston.”

NOTES

  1. This amendment comes into effect upon first publication in a newspaper circulating in the infected area constituted. Its purpose is to extend the previously declared “infected area”.
