in the Second Schedule hereto, except in the closed game areas published in the Gazette of 25 March 1970, and any subsequent Gazette notice, and subject to the special conditions published in this notice; and hereby calls the attention of sportsmen and others to the daily game possession limits set forth in the First Schedule hereto, and to the provisions set forth or referred to in the Fourth Schedule of the Gazette of 25 March 1970. Any person hunting or killing game otherwise than in the terms of this notification (including the special conditions specified) is liable on conviction to a fine of $100.
FIRST SCHEDULE
DAILY GAME POSSESSION LIMIT
EXCEPT where all game is labelled with the following details:
(a) The name and address of the person by whom the game was taken;
(b) The number of the licence to hunt or kill game held by the person by whom the game was taken; and
(c) The date on which the game was taken.
No person shall have in his possession on any one day game in excess of the following numbers:
Saturday, 3 February 1973: A number of game corresponding to the number specified in this notification as the daily bag limit.
Sunday, 4 February 1973: Twice the number of game specified for Saturday, 3 February 1973.
Every subsequent day: as for Saturday, 3 February 1973.
SECOND SCHEDULE
WELLINGTON ACCLIMATISATION DISTRICT
Reference to Description: Gazette, No. 70, of 5 November 1964, at page 2013.
Game That May be Hunted or Killed: Grey and mallard duck.
Duration of Season: 3 February 1973 to 11 February 1973.
Daily Bag Limits: Grey duck, 15; mallard duck, 15; grey and mallard duck, 15 in all.
Shooting Hours: 4.30 a.m. to 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 8.30 p.m.
Special Conditions
- A licence issued pursuant to this notification shall only entitle the holder thereof to hunt or kill game over crops other than grass.
- No person shall hunt or kill game over any water or within 100 metres of the margin of any water whether natural or artificially formed.

1973 Open Season for Game (Canada Goose) in North Canterbury Acclimatisation District
PURSUANT to the Wildlife Act 1953, the Minister of Internal Affairs declares an open season, for Canada geese only, within that portion of the North Canterbury Acclimatisation District described in the First Schedule hereto, during the period and subject to the conditions specified in the Second Schedule hereto.
FIRST SCHEDULE
AREA FOR AN OPEN SEASON FOR CANADA GEESE
ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District bounded by a line commencing at a point on the sea coast in line with the middle of Beach Road, near Poranui Block VIII, Ellesmere Survey District, and proceeding north-easterly generally along the south-eastern shore of Lake Forsyth to a white marker post near the eastern end of that lake; thence due east 50 chains to a second white marker post; thence northerly to the intersection of Kinloch Road and the Okute River and along the middle line of that road and Morrisons Road to the middle of the Christchurch-Akaroa No. 75 State Highway; thence proceeding along the middle line of that road generally south-westerly to its junction with Beach Road; thence generally north-westerly along the middle line of the Christchurch-Akaroa No. 75 State Highway to Tai Tapu; thence in a westerly direction along the middle lines of Lincoln Road, Ellesmere Junction Road, through Lincoln to Springston; thence to the junction of Burnham Road; thence in a northerly direction along the middle line to the main north-south railway line; thence in a southerly direction along the railway line to the middle line of the Rakaia River; thence in a south-easterly direction to the sea coast; thence in an easterly direction along the sea coast to the point of commencement.
SECOND SCHEDULE
CONDITIONS TO APPLY DURING OPEN SEASON FOR CANADA GEESE
DURATION of season: Midnight, 9 February 1973 to 25 March 1973 at midnight.
Shooting hours: 24 hours per day.
Daily bag limit. No limit.
Decoy limit (Canada goose only): 25.

Maori Land Development Notice
WHEREAS by virtue of the notice referred to in the First Schedule hereto the lands described in that notice were declared to be subject to the provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953; and whereas the appellations of certain parcels of those lands have been changed by subsequent orders of the Maori Land Court; and whereas certain parcels of land have since been released from the provisions of Part XXIV, aforesaid; and whereas it is desired to release certain other parcels of land from the provisions of Part XXIV, aforesaid; and whereas it is desired that the balance of the land (under the present appellation) shall remain subject to the provisions of the said Part XXIV:
Now, therefore, pursuant to sections 330 and 332 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the Board of Maori Affairs hereby gives notice as follows.
NOTICE
- This notice may be cited as Maori Land Development Notice Gisborne 1972, No. 47.
- The land described in the Second Schedule hereto is hereby released from the provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953
- The notice referred to in the First Schedule hereto is hereby revoked, being replaced to the extent necessary by notices issued contemporaneously with this notice, as set out in the Third Schedule hereto.
