eastern boundaries of Section 37, Block IV, aforesaid, and the
last boundary produced to and westerly along the middle
of Black Swamp Road to a point in line with the eastern
boundary of Section 8, Block IV, aforesaid; thence southerly
along a right line to and along that eastern boundary, and
south-westerly along the south-eastern boundaries of the said
Section 8, and the last boundary produced to the middle of
Coal Hill Road; thence westerly and southerly along the
middle of Coal Hill Road and Te Hana - Mangawhai Road,
and the public road forming the eastern boundaries of Section
26, all the aforesaid sections being of Block IV, Mangawhai
Survey District, and Allotment 281, Mangawhai Parish, and
again Te Hana - Mangawhai Road to a point in line with the
southern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 24567, in Block I, Pakiri
Survey District; thence easterly to and along that southern
boundary and the northern boundaries of Allotments 90A and
97 to and southerly along the eastern boundary and westerly
along the southern boundary of the said Allotment 97 and that
boundary produced to the middle of Te Hana - Mangawhai
Road aforesaid; thence northerly generally along the middle
of that road to a point in line with the southern boundary of
Allotment 90; thence westerly to and along the said boundary,
to and northerly generally along the western and northern
boundaries of Allotment 90, all the aforesaid allotments being
of Mangawhai Parish, to and down the middle of the
Mangawhai Stream, to and north-easterly generally along the
right bank of the Mangawhai Estuary and continuing south-
easterly generally along the line of mean high-water of the
South Pacific Ocean to the point of commencement.

Vesting Reclaimed Crown Land in the Marlborough Harbour Board

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to section 175B (2) of the Harbours Act 1950, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby vests in the Marlborough Harbour Board the land described in the Schedule hereto, as a public utility reserve subject to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953.
SCHEDULE
ALL that area of land in Elaine Bay, Pelorus Sound, containing an area of 17.3 perches, as shown on plan M.D. 14838 (S.O. 11607), reclaimed by authority of Order in Council of 26 July 1971*.

Officer of Government of Ross Dependency Appointed
DENIS BLUNDELL, Governor-General
WHEREAS, by the Order in Council dated the 30th day of July 1923*, made under the British Settlements Act 1887 of the United Kingdom Parliament, the Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief of New Zealand for the time being (therein and hereinafter called the Governor) was appointed to be the Governor of the Ross Dependency, and all the powers and authorities which by the said order were given and granted to the Governor for the time being of the Dependency were thereby vested in him;
And whereas the Governor was thereby further authorised and empowered to make all such rules and regulations as might lawfully be made by Her Majesty’s authority for the peace, order, and good government of the Dependency;
And whereas, by regulations made by the Governor on the 14th day of November 1923†, it was enacted that all persons appointed by the Governor for the time being of the Dependency should have such power and authority as might be granted them in due course of law, and might be empowered to do such things as might be necessary or desirable to ensure that the laws in force in the Dependency are duly observed and complied with in every respect, and to do all things necessary or expedient for the peace, order, and good government of the Dependency, and to safeguard and preserve Her Majesty’s rights and sovereignty over and in respect of the Dependency;
And whereas it is expedient that the person hereinafter named be appointed an officer of the Government of the Dependency:
Now, therefore, I, Sir Edward Denis Blundell, the Governor-General of New Zealand, and as such the Governor of the Ross Dependency, hereby appoint
John Edward Brown, Esq.
as an officer of the Government of the Dependency; and I hereby confer on him all the powers and authorities which may be exercised in New Zealand by a Postmaster.
The said John Edward Brown to exercise his functions at such places within the Dependency as may be directed by the officer for the time being appointed as an officer of the Government of the Dependency in whom is vested the general executive and administrative authority in preserving Her Majesty’s rights and sovereignty and the laws and regulations in force in the Dependency; and to hold office and exercise the duties thereof during pleasure.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, as the Governor of the Ross Dependency, this 2nd day of October 1972.

Exempting Land in the Nelson Land District from the Operation of Part III of the Coal Mines Act 1925

PURSUANT to section 171 of the Coal Mines Act 1925, I, Sir Edward Denis Blundell, the Governor-General of New Zealand, do hereby exempt the land described in the Schedule hereto from the operation of Part III of the said Act.

NELSON LAND DISTRICT—BULLER COUNTY
RESIDENCE site licence 2826, being Crown land adjoining the Town of Denniston situated in Block VI, Kawatiri Survey District: area, 1 rood, more or less. All certificate of title, Volume 1D, folio 363 (limited as to parcels), Nelson Land Registry (S.O. 10575).
Save and excepting for Her Majesty the Queen all seams or beds of coal and all other minerals and metals, and reserving to Her Majesty and all persons legally entitled to work the said coal, minerals, and metals, a right of ingress, egress, and regress under the said land.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General this 20th day of November 1972.
