Land Declared to be a Motorway in the City of Auckland

At the Government Buildings at Wellington this 25th day of January 1972
Present:
THE RIGHT HON. SIR KEITH HOLYOAKE, G.C.M.G., C.H., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
Pursuant to the Public Works Act 1928 and section 4 of the Public Works Amendment Act 1947, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby orders and declares that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, be a motorway.
SCHEDULE
NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT
ALL those portions of land in Block XVI, Waitemata Survey District, and Block VIII, Rangitoto Survey District, City of Auckland, North Auckland R.D., being part of the Auckland-Hamilton Motorway described as follows: commencing at the point marked A on the plan marked M.O.W. 25822 hereinafter mentioned on the south-eastern side of Symonds Street at its intersection with Karangahape Road being a portion of State Highway No. 1 and proceeding thence in a south-easterly direction crossing under motorway bridges Grafton No. 3B and Grafton No. 2 joining the Auckland-Hamilton Motorway and terminating at a point marked B on the said plan adjacent to the temporary Arawa Street on-ramp. Traffic will be in one direction only starting as a single lane and merging with other future lanes in the vicinity of the Grafton underpass structure; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked M.O.W. 25822 (M.O. 1209) deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

Exempting Certain Maori Land from Rates

THE RIGHT HON. SIR KEITH HOLYOAKE, G.C.M.G., C.H., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
Pursuant to section 149 (1) of the Rating Act 1967, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby exempts the Maori reservations described in the Schedule hereto from liability for rating and pursuant to section 149 (2) of the said Act the rates unpaid up to and including the 31st day of March 1971 as set out in the Schedule shall be remitted.

Pursuant to section 149 (1) of the Rating Act 1967, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby exempts the Maori freehold land described in the Schedule hereto from payment of all rates made or levied by any local authority under the provisions of the Rating Act 1967.

His Excellency the Governor-General directs it to be notified that Her Majesty's Exequatur in respect of the appointment of Mr Byoung Rok Lee as Consul of Korea, at Wellington, has been issued.

His Excellency the Governor-General directs it to be notified that the appointment of Mr Taizo Asada as Consul-General of Japan, at Auckland, has been provisionally recognised.

Natural Gas Corporation of New Zealand—Appointment of Directors
