Approval of Revolving Amber Lights for DSIR Seismic Survey Vehicles
PURSUANT to regulation 39 of the Traffic Regulations 1956*, the Secretary for Transport hereby approves the fitting of one revolving amber light on any motor vehicle owned and operated by the DSIR and used principally or exclusively for seismic surveys, subject to each of the following conditions:
-
The light shall only be used: (a) when the vehicle is being used to lay seismic cables or to place seismic instruments on or alongside a road; and (b) when the vehicle is obstructing the path of moving traffic provided this obstruction is kept to the minimum possible and a flagman is used where visibility is limited.

Suitable and adequate warning signs shall be erected to warn approaching traffic of the hazard.

The vehicle shall be painted a conspicuous colour.

Approval of Location of Red Reflectors on Falcon XA Goods-service Vehicles
PURSUANT to regulation 49 (1) of the Traffic Regulations 1956*, the Secretary for Transport hereby approves, for the purposes of regulation 41 (4) of the said regulations, the location of red reflectors (having a lens diameter of not less than 2½ in.) at the rear of model Falcon XA goods-service vehicle so that the nearest part of each reflector lens is not more than 7½ in. from the extreme left and right hand sides of each vehicle.
