NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND
Notice is hereby given that the Hawke's Bay Catchment
Board proposes, under the provisions of the Public Works
Act 1928, to execute a certain public work, namely,
Ngaruroro River Control, and for the purposes of, or in
connection with, such public work the land described in the
Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby
given that a plan of the land so required to be taken is
deposited in the public office of the Hawke's Bay Catchment
Board situate in Vautier Street, Napier, and is open for in-
spection without fee by all persons during ordinary office
hours.
All persons affected by the execution of the said public
work or by the taking of such land should if they have any
objection to the execution of the said public work or to the
taking of the said land, not being objections to the amount or
payment of compensation, set forth the same in writing and
send the written objection within 40 days of the first publica-
tion of this notice to the said catchment board at its office,
aforesaid, and that if any objection is made in accordance
with this notice a public hearing of the objection will be held
unless the objector otherwise requires, and each objector will
be advised of the time and place of the hearing.

THAT pursuant to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, for
the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of
$38,100, authorised to be raised for the purpose of repaying
the portion of the Waipaoa River Flood Control Scheme
Loan 1952, $398,900, which matures on 1 October 1972, the
Poverty Bay Catchment Board hereby makes a special rate,
upon the rateable capital value of all rateable property in the
various classes within the Waipaoa River Flood Control
Scheme rating area as defined by the classification list pre-
pared and adopted by the Board on 4 May 1951, for the
purpose of rating for such scheme and as deposited in the
office of the Board, the said special rate in various classes
according to such classification list as set out below, such
special rate to be an annual-recurring rate during the currency
