Gazette) is advised that paragraph 2 of this notice is to be
read in conjunction with the notices specified above.

  1. Parties intending to make representations or requests
    about appropriate rates of customs duty are asked to take into
    account the statement by the Minister of Overseas Trade of
    6 September 1972, about changes in the New Zealand
    customs tariff. Copies of this statement can be obtained
    from the undersigned. Parties intending to make representations or requests about the exemption from import
    licensing of goods at present not so exempt are asked to take
    into account the statement in the 1972 Financial Statement
    (p. 19) that "the Government has also decided that where
    the industry is to be exempted from import licensing there
    should be provision in appropriate cases for a phase-out
    period which in general will be for up to 3 years".

Consenting to Raising of Loans by Certain Local Authorities

PURSUANT to section 3 of the Local Authorities Loans Act
1956 (as amended by section 3 (1) of the Local Authorities
Loans Amendment Act 1967), the undersigned Assistant Secretary to the Treasury, acting under powers delegated to the
Secretary to the Treasury by the Minister of Finance, hereby
consents to the borrowing by the local authorities, mentioned
in the Schedule hereto of the whole or any part of the respective amounts specified in that Schedule.
