Boundaries of City of Gisborne, County of Cook, and the Gisborne, Whataupoto, and Pouawa Ridings of Cook County defined

PURSUANT to section 26 of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954, the Secretary for Internal Affairs hereby defines, as set out in the Schedule hereto, the boundaries of the City of Gisborne, County of Cook, and the Gisborne, Whataupoto, and Pouawa Ridings of Cook County; the boundaries having previously been altered by Order in Council made on 21 June 1971, published in Gazette, 24 June 1971, No. 47, p. 1181.

SCHEDULE
BOUNDARIES OF CITY OF GISBORNE
ALL that area in the Gisborne Land District containing 6,495 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at a point on the sea coast of Poverty Bay in line with the south-western side of Section 35, Block VI, Turanganui Survey District, and proceeding north-westerly generally to and along that boundary, along the south-western side of Awapuni Road, to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 3386; thence easterly generally across Awapuni Road, to and along the eastern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 3386, along the north-western boundaries of parts Awapuni 1G2A and 1G3, the north-eastern boundary of the said part 1G3, the northern and eastern boundaries of part Awapuni 1J2A, the southern and eastern boundaries of part Awapuni 1J2B, the south-eastern boundary of Section 33, Block VI, Turanganui Survey District, along the south-western boundary of Awapuni 1F2 to the northern side of Awapuni Road, along that roadside to the easternmost corner of Awapuni 1A1; thence westerly generally along the south-western boundary of Lytton Road to the northernmost corner of Awapuni 1A1, along the western boundary of the said 1A1, to and along the northern boundary of Section 27, Block VI, Turanganui Survey District, the south-eastern boundary of the 16-acre parcel of Awapuni 1L, along the south-eastern boundary of part Awapuni 3, the north-eastern, northern, and western boundaries of part Awapuni B1 and the production of the last-mentioned boundary across Awapuni Road to its southern side, along that roadside to a point in line with the western side of Aerodrome Road; thence north-easterly generally across Awapuni Road, to and along the western side of Aerodrome Road, to and across the Palmerston North - Gisborne Railway, and again along the last-mentioned roadside for a distance of 130 links, along a right line, being the shortest distance across Aerodrome Road, to and along the western and northern boundaries of Section 36, Block II, Turanganui Survey District, along the northern boundary of Section 35, Block II, Turanganui Survey District, to and along the eastern boundary of Lot 2, D.P. 2529, and its production across the Gisborne-Makaraka Railway, to and along the eastern boundary of Lot 1.
