HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Broadcasting Corporation Act 1961, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER

  1. Title and commencement—(1) This order may be cited as the Broadcasting Corporation Salary Order 1972.
    (2) This order shall be deemed to have come into force on the 27th day of December 1970.

  2. Salary of Director-General—The salary of the Director-General of Broadcasting shall be as follows:

Conferring Jurisdiction on the Maori Land Court

THE RIGHT HON. J. R. MARSHALL PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 31 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby confers on the Maori Land Court jurisdiction to hear and determine any application to determine—

(a) The identity of the assets, other than land, acquired for the purpose and during the course of farming operations on the Maori freehold land containing 488 acres 1 rood and 24 perches and known as Whareponga A1;

(b) The ownership and value of any such assets;

(c) The appropriate share to which each owner of the said assets determined as aforesaid is entitled; and

(d) Any question affecting the disposition of any such assets.

Appointments, Promotions, Extensions, Transfers, Resignations, and Retirements of Officers of the Royal New Zealand Navy

PURSUANT to section 35 of the Defence Act 1971, His Excellency the Governor-General has approved the following appointments, promotions, extensions, transfers, resignations, and retirements of officers of the Royal New Zealand Navy:

Lieutenant Commander David Nisbet Price is placed on the Retired List with effect from 7 June 1972.

Lieutenant Commander C. G. Ashbridge to be temp. Commander with effect from 31 July 1972.

The appointment of Lieutenant Commander D. Bell is extended to 3 July 1975.

Lieutenant G. N. Kendall to be Lieutenant Commander with seniority and effect from 1 July 1972.

Lieutenant K. R. Moen to be Lieutenant Commander with seniority and effect from 1 July 1972.

Lieutenant I. M. Halliday, B.SC.(ENG.), to be temp. Lieutenant Commander with effect from 24 April 1972.

Instructor Lieutenant John Stuart Melrose, B.SC., GRAD. I.E.R.E., is placed on the R.N.Z.N. Emergency List with effect from 11 July 1972.

Temp. Lieutenant P. T. Murphy to be Lieutenant with seniority and effect from 27 June 1972.

The appointment of Honorary Lieutenant S. Johnson is extended to 31 December 1972.

Sub Lieutenant (temp. Lieutenant) A. D. Clayton-Greene to be Lieutenant, with seniority from 1 May 1971 and effect from 4 May 1972.

ROYAL NEW ZEALAND NAVAL VOLUNTEER RESERVE

The appointment of Sub Lieutenant Brydon Edwin Webster Galilee is terminated with effect from 30 May 1972.

Ensign P. R. Gibson to be Sub Lieutenant with seniority and effect from 1 March 1972.

Chaplain J. Teal, V.R.D., B.SC., is placed on the R.N.Z.N.V.R. Retired List and reappointed to R.N.Z.N.V.R. List 1 until 28 February 1974, with effect from 29 February 1972.
