Tariff and Development Board Notice No. 282—Inquiry Concerning Protection for Inflatable Plastic Beach Balls and Other Inflatable Plastic Toys—Public Hearing
-
Following receipt by the Minister of Customs of a report from the Emergency Protection Authority the Government has accepted, with one exception, the recommendations of the Authority that inflatable plastic beach balls and other inflatable plastic toys be withdrawn from their respective item codes, 97.130 and 97.115, in the 1971–72 Import Licensing Schedule and be given a new item code with an allocation of 100 percent of imports of the same goods under 1969–70 licences. In view of the apparent lack of imports of the goods in the 1969–70 licensing period it has been decided by the Government that the allocation under the new item code will be 20 percent of imports of the same goods under 1970–71 licences.
-
In accordance with the provisions of the Tariff and Development Board Act the Minister of Customs has requested the Board to inquire into and report on what permanent form of protection, if any, is necessary in respect of inflatable plastic beach balls and other inflatable plastic toys, as classified in Tariff items 97.03 002 and 97.03.009 respectively.
