Temporary Protection of Industry

NOTICE is hereby given that the Emergency Protection Authority has been requested to undertake an inquiry in terms of the Tariff and Development Board Act 1961 and its amendments, and to report in terms of section 10D of that Act, concerning the following goods:

  1. Union fabrics composed of wool and cotton, the current domestic value of which does not exceed that specified by the Minister, to be cut up and made into shirts, pyjamas, nightgowns, or underclothing, under such conditions as the Minister may prescribe falling within Tariff Item 53.11.009.

  2. Union fabrics composed of cotton and wool, the current domestic value of which does not exceed that specified by the Minister, to be cut up and made into shirts, pyjamas, nightgowns, or underclothing, under such conditions as the Minister may prescribe falling within Tariff Item 55.09.101.

  3. Union textiles composed of wool and man-made fibres and/or cotton, the current domestic value of which, expressed in New Zealand currency, does not exceed $1.12 per yd², to be cut up and made into shirts, pyjamas, nightgowns, or underclothing, under such conditions as the Minister may prescribe falling within Section XI and covered by a general reference in part II of the Tariff.

NOTICE is hereby given that the New Zealand standard specifications listed in the Schedule hereto have been reviewed by committees of the Standards Council and have been recommended for revocation, pursuant to the provisions of the Standards Act 1965.

Any person who may be affected by the proposal to revoke these standard specifications, and who wishes to object to their revocation, is invited to submit comments to the Standards Association of New Zealand, Private Bag, Wellington, not later than 9 June 1972.

The Standards Act 1965—Draft New Zealand Standard Specifications Available for Comment

PURSUANT to subsection (3) of section 23 of the Standards Act 1965, notice is hereby given that the following draft New Zealand standard specifications are being circulated:

DZ 4561/265 Manual fire alarm systems for use in buildings. (Superseding NZS 1299 and NZS 2211.)
DZ 7842/263 Glass milk-bottles of the metal foil cap type. (Superseding NZS 1617.)

All persons who may be affected by these specifications and who desire to comment thereon may, upon application, obtain one copy on loan from the Standards Association of New Zealand, New Zealand Display Centre Building, Sturdee Street (or Private Bag), Wellington 1. Additional copies are obtainable at 50c a copy from the same address.

The closing date for the receipt of comment is 30 June 1972.
