The Road Classification (Papakura Borough)
Notice No. 1, 1972

PURSUANT to regulation 3 of the Heavy Motor Vehicle Regulations 1969*, the Secretary for Transport hereby gives the following notice.

NOTICE

  1. This notice may be cited as the Road Classification (Papakura Borough) Notice No. 1, 1972.

  2. The Papakura Borough Council's proposed classification of the roads as set out in the Schedule hereto is hereby approved.

  3. The notice dated the 31st day of October 1961† which relates to the classification of the roads described in the Schedule hereto is hereby revoked.

SCHEDULE

CLASS ONE

Beach Road—(from Auckland-Hamilton Motorway to Great South Road).

Liverpool Street—(from Great South Road to Victoria Street).

Victoria Street—(from Liverpool Street to Opaheke Road).

Opaheke Road—(from Victoria Street to Onslow Road).

Onslow Road—(from Victoria Street to Settlement Road).

Settlement Road—(from Onslow Road to Hunua Road).

Hunua Road—(from Settlement Road to Dominion Road).

Dominion Road—(from Hunua Road to Settlement Road).

CLASS TWO

ALL other roads under the control of the Papakura Borough Council.

Revoking Declaration of State Highways and Declaring Public Highways to be State Highways

PURSUANT to section 11 of the National Roads Act 1953, the National Roads Board, acting with the written approval of the Minister of Works, hereby gives notice that the notice dated 9 March 1960, published in the Gazette, 24 March 1960, Vol. I, p. 384, is hereby revoked in so far as it affects the State highways described in the First Schedule hereto; and that the public highways described in the Second Schedule hereto are declared to be State highways within the meaning and for the purposes of the National Roads Act 1953, on and from 1 April 1972.

FIRST SCHEDULE

STATE HIGHWAYS REVOKED

No. 2 State Highway (Pokeno-Wellington via Gisborne) from its junction with No. 27 State Highway approximately 2 miles north of Mangatarata via Waitakaruru to its junction with Orchard West Road in Ngatea.

No. 25 State Highway (Pipiroa-Waihi via Coromandel).

No. 27 State Highway (Mangatarata-Tirau) from its junction with No. 2 State Highway approximately 2 miles north of Mangatarata to its junction with Cross Road, Mangatarata.

SECOND SCHEDULE

STATE HIGHWAYS DECLARED

No. 2 State Highway (Pokeno-Wellington via Gisborne) from its former junction with No. 27 State Highway approximately 2 miles north of Mangatarata to No. 2 State Highway in Ngatea via Mangatarata, Cross Road, and Orchard West Road.

No. 25 State Highway (Waitakaruru-Waihi via Coromandel) commencing at No. 2 State Highway approximately 3 miles west of Waitakaruru and proceeding thence to Waihi via Waitakaruru, Pipiroa, Kopu, Thames, Tapu, to a point 20 chains south of Coromandel, Kuaotunu, Whitianga, Kaimarama, Coroglen, Tairua, and Hikuai.

No. 89 State Highway (Queenstown-Wanaka):

In Wanaka from the junction of Ardmore Street and Brownston Street via Brownston Street to the junction of Brownston Street and Macdougall Street.

National Roads Board—Notice Declaring State Highway to be a Limited Access Road

It is notified that the National Roads Board, by resolution dated 16 March 1972 and pursuant to section 4 of the Public Works Amendment Act 1963, hereby declares that part of No. 3 State Highway (Hamilton to Woodville via New Plymouth), from the southern boundary of Inglewood Borough to its junction with Norfolk Road, as more particularly shown on sheets 1 and 2 of plans M.O.W. 17728 and the accompanying schedule held in the office of the Resident Engineer, Ministry of Works, New Plymouth, and there available for public inspection, to be a limited access road.

National Roads Board—Notice Declaring State Highway to be a Limited Access Road

It is notified that the National Roads Board, by resolution dated 16 March 1972 and pursuant to section 4 of the Public Works Amendment Act 1963, hereby declares that part of No. 1 State Highway (Awanui to Bluff) from its junction with Calico Road to a point approximately 37.5 chains south of its junction with Kakariki Road, as more particularly shown on sheet 1 of plan M.O.W. 17590 and the accompanying schedule held in the office of the Resident Engineer, Ministry of Works, Wanganui, and there available for public inspection, to be a limited access road.

Pursuant to sections 330 and 331 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the Board of Maori Affairs hereby gives notice as follows.

NOTICE

  1. This notice may be cited as Maori Land Development Notice Whangarei 1972, No. 12.

  2. The land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be subject to Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953.
