NORTHCOTE BOROUGH COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Commercial Development Renewal Loan No. 1, $12,000
EXTRACT from the minutes of a meeting of the Northcote
Borough Council held on 23 August 1971.
Resolved (Councillors La Roche and Rickman), pursuant to
the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Northcote Borough
Council hereby resolves as follows:
That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a
loan of $12,000, authorised to be raised by the Northcote
Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the pur-
pose of repaying on maturity that portion of the Commercial
Development Loan No. 2, 1961, of $20,000, which matures
on 21 December 1971, the said Northcote Borough Council
hereby makes a special rate of 0.0175c in the dollar upon the
rateable value of all rateable property in the Borough of
Northcote and that the special rate shall be an annual-
recurring rate during the currency of the loan, and be payable
yearly on the 7th day of August in each and every year during
the currency of the loan, being a period of 10 years, or until
the loan is fully paid off.
I hereby certify that the above is a true and correct copy of
an extract from the minutes of a meeting of the Northcote
Borough Council held on the 23rd day of August 1971.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Kowhai Land Development Loan No. 2, 1971
EXTRACT from the minutes of a meeting of the Northcote
Borough Council held on 23 August 1971.
Resolved (Councillors McKnight and La Roche), pursuant
to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Northcote
Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:
That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a
loan of $50,000, authorised to be raised by the Northcote
Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the
purpose of developing land for housing and developing
adjacent reserve area, the said Northcote Borough Council
hereby makes a special rate of 0.073c in the dollar upon the
rateable value of all rateable property in the Borough of
Northcote and that the special rate shall be an annual-
recurring rate during the currency of the loan, and be pay-
able yearly on the 7th day of August in each and every year
during the currency of the loan, being a period of 10 years, or
until the loan is fully paid off.
I hereby certify that the above is a true and correct copy of

WAIRAO BOROUGH COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Staff Housing Loan 1971, $18,000
PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Wairoa
Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:
That, for the purpose of providing annual charges on a loan
of $18,000, authorised to be raised by the Wairoa Borough
Council under the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956 and

regulations thereunder, and of all other powers in that behalf
enabling it, for the purchase of two staff houses, garages, and
other ancilliary works, the said Wairoa Borough Council hereby
makes a special rate of decimal nought nought nought five two
cents (.00052c) in the dollar on the unimproved value of all
rateable property within the Borough of Wairoa, comprising the
whole of the Borough and that the special rate shall be an
annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan and be
payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every
year during the currency of the loan, being a period of 25
years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
The foregoing resolution was passed at a meeting of the
Wairoa Borough Council held on 22 November 1971.

BALCLUTHA BOROUGH COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Water Loan 1971, $140,000
(Section 47, Local Authorities Loans Act 1956)
THAT, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on
$140,000, authorised to be raised by the Balclutha Borough
Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the Water Loan
1971, the said Balclutha Borough Council hereby resolves to
make a special rate of 1.435c in the dollar upon the rateable
annual value of all rateable property of the Borough of Bal-
clutha, and the special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate
during the currency of the loan and be payable half-yearly
on the first day of February and on the first day of August in
each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a
period of 30 years, or until the said loan is fully paid off.

Community Housing Loan 1971, $65,000
(Section 47, Local Authorities Loans Act 1956)
THAT, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a
loan of $65,000, authorised to be raised by the Balclutha
Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the
Community Housing Loan 1971, the said Balclutha Borough
Council hereby resolves to make a special rate of 0.165c in the
dollar upon the rateable unimproved value of all the rateable
property of the Borough of Balclutha, and that the special
rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the
loan and be payable half-yearly on the first day of February
and the first day of August in each and every year during the
currency of the loan, being a period of 25 years, or until the
said loan is fully paid off.

SOUTH CANTERBURY CATCHMENT BOARD
ASHBURTON-HINDS DRAINAGE DISTRICT
NOTICE is hereby given that the Board at its meeting on 10
November 1971 resolved as follows:
That, whereas the Ashburton Borough Council and the South
Canterbury Catchment Board have agreed to the continuation
of the payment of a lump sum annually by the Borough
Council towards the cost of maintaining the Ashburton-Hinds
Drainage Scheme in lieu of rating individual properties in the
Tinwald area of the Ashburton Borough, the Board hereby
resolves that the proportion to be paid annually by the
Borough Council, being 3.26 percent of the total rates levied
over the other classes of the Ashburton-Hinds drainage district
for maintenance purposes, shall form part of the classification
for the area classed as U1, and be shown on the classification
documents as such.
That this revised proportion shall cancel and replace the
proportion contained in clause 3 (2) of the South Canterbury
Catchment Board Act 1958, and be published in the New
Zealand Gazette accordingly.
