Allocating Railway Land for Road in Block XV, Rangiora
Survey District, Rangiora and Eyre Counties

A PROCLAMATION
PURSUANT to section 226 of the Public Works Act 1928, I, Sir
Arthur Espie Porritt, Baronet, the Governor-General of New
Zealand, hereby proclaim and declare that the land described
in the First Schedule hereto shall, upon the publication hereof
in the Gazette become road, and that such road shall be
under the management and control of the Rangiora County
Council and shall be maintained by the said Council in like
manner as other roads are controlled and maintained by the
said Council; and I also hereby proclaim and declare that the
land described in the Second Schedule hereto shall, upon
publication hereof in the Gazette, become road, and that such
road shall be under the management and control of the Eyre
County Council and shall be maintained by the said council in
like manner as other roads are controlled and maintained by
the council.

FIRST SCHEDULE
CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT
ALL that piece of land containing 2 roods and 6 perches,
situated in Block XV, Rangiora Survey District, Canterbury
R.D., being part Rural Section 13738; as the same is more
particularly delineated on the plan marked M.O.W. 25207
(S.O. 11294) deposited in the office of the Minister of Works
at Wellington, and thereon coloured orange.

SECOND SCHEDULE
CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT
ALL that piece of land containing 2 roods and 7.6 perches,
situated in Block XV, Rangiora Survey District, Canterbury
R.D., being part Rural Section 760; as the same is more
particularly delineated on the plan marked M.O.W. 25207 (S.O.
11294) deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at
Wellington, and thereon coloured blue.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General, and issued under the Seal of New Zealand, this

Defining the Middle Line of the Sockburn-Styx Railway and
Revoking the Previous Proclamation

A PROCLAMATION
PURSUANT to section 216 of the Public Works Act 1928, I,
Sir Arthur Espie Porritt, Baronet, the Governor-General of
New Zealand, hereby revoke the Proclamation dated the 25th
day of February 1960, published in the Gazette, No. 15, 3
March 1960, page 283, No. 520268, Canterbury Land Registry,
and hereby proclaim and declare that the middle line of the
Sockburn-Styx Railway shall be that defined and set forth in
the Schedule hereto; and I also declare that this Proclamation
shall affect only that land situated within a distance of 33 ft
on either side of the middle line hereby defined.

SCHEDULE
CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT
COMMENCING at a point on the existing Lyttelton-Bluff
Railway line about 11 miles 28.2 chains west of Lyttelton,
in Block X, Christchurch Survey District, and marked Peg.
S. 1, and proceeding thence in a north-easterly direction
generally for a distance of approximately 8 miles 34 chains
and passing in, into, through, or over the following lands, etc.,

approximately 28 chains to join the firstly above-described
middle line about 30 chains from commencing point S. 1, and
passing in, into, through, or over the following lands, etc.,
viz:

including all adjoining and intervening places, lands, reserves,
