Reservation of Land and Vesting in the Palmerston North City
Council

PURSUANT to the Land Act 1948, the Minister of Lands hereby
sets apart the land described in the Schedule hereto as reserves
for the purposes specified at the end of the respective descriptions
of the said lands, and further, pursuant to the Reserves
and Domains Act 1953, vests the said reserves in the Mayor,
Councillors, and Citizens of the City of Palmerston North in
trust, for those purposes.
This notice is issued in substitution for the notice dated 11
June 1971 and published in Gazette, 24 June 1971, No. 47, page
1197, and that notice is hereby cancelled.

Import Control Exemption Notice (No. 26) 1971

PURSUANT to regulation 16 of the Import Control Regulations
1964*, the Minister of Customs hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. (a) This notice may be cited as the Import Control
    Exemption Notice (No. 26) 1971.
    (b) This notice shall come into force on the day after the
    date of its notification in the New Zealand Gazette.
  2. Goods of the class specified and for the purposes of the
    Customs Tariff falling within the Tariff item in the Schedule
    hereto, imported from and being the produce or manufacture
    of any country, are hereby exempted from the requirement of
    a licence under the said regulations.

    The Motor Launch (Frankton Arm, Lake Wakatipu) Notice
    1971

    PURSUANT to the Motor Launch Regulations 1962
    , the Minister
    of Marine and Fisheries hereby gives the following notice:
  3. (a) The notice may be cited as the Motor Launch (Frank-
    ton Arm, Lake Wakatipu) Notice 1971.
    (b) The notice shall come into force on the date of its
    publication in the Gazette, and shall remain in force until
    further notice.
  4. Subject to the conditions set forth in the Second Schedule
    hereto regulations 11 and 12 of the Motor Launch Regulations
    1962 shall not apply with respect to the areas described in the
    First Schedule hereto.

    FIRST SCHEDULE
    FIRSTLY, all that area of water in Frankton Arm, Lake
    Wakatipu, bounded on the sides by parallel lines 700 ft apart,
    extending 200 yd from the edge of the water in a 235° true
    direction, the northern boundary commencing at a point bearing
    143° true distance 582 ft from the south-west corner of the
    concrete block bathing sheds on the Frankton Domain Fore-
    shore.
    Secondly, all that area of water in Frankton Arm, Lake
    Wakatipu, bounded on the sides by parallel lines 400 ft apart,
    extending 200 yd from the edge of the water in a 071° true
    distance, the southern boundary commencing at a point bearing
    221° true distance 1,375 ft from a survey peg at the north
    end of the boundary between Sections 1 and 2, D.P. 9769,
    Coneburn Survey District.

    SECOND SCHEDULE
    THE access lanes shall be marked as follows:
  5. Two 8-ft transit posts with a distance of not less than
    10 ft or more than 20 ft between and painted with 12 in. bright
    orange and black bands shall be erected on land in line with
    each side of the access lane, the first post being sited on the
    lake margin at normal lake level.
  6. On each side of the transit posts sited on the lake margin
    at normal lake level there shall be fastened in line with the
    sides of the access lane a notice board measuring not less than
    2 ft 6 in. by 2 ft painted bright orange with black lettering in
    the following form:
    “NOTICE
    MOTOR LAUNCH REGULATIONS 1962
    Access lane through which motor launches and water
    skiers may pass at speeds greater than 5 miles per
    hour.
    BATHERS KEEP OUT”
  7. Where practical marker buoys, either barrel, drum, or
    spherical shaped, painted bright orange with a vertical black
    stripe, shall be moored 50 yd and 200 yd from the lake margin
    at normal lake level and in line with each set of transit posts.
