WHEREAS I am empowered by the Royal New Zealand Air Force Act 1950 to authorise and empower you from time to time and as occasion may require to convene General Courts Martial for the trial of any person subject to air force law who is charged with an offence for which such person may be tried by Court Martial and to confirm the findings and sentences of such Courts Martial, and also to authorise and empower you to delegate such of these powers as you may think fit to any officer under your command or jurisdiction not below the rank of squadron leader;

Courts Martial Commission by the New Zealand Defence Council
To: Commodore Stanley William Clayden, D.s.c., Royal Navy, Commander, Australian, New Zealand, and United Kingdom Naval Component Malaysia/Singapore.
For the better maintaining of proper government and strict discipline of Her Majesty's New Zealand ships and vessels, we, by virtue of the power and authority vested in us by the Defence Act 1964, the Navy Act 1954, the Naval Discipline Act 1957 (UK) (the last-mentioned of these modified and adapted to the requirements of the Royal New Zealand Navy by the Navy Regulations 1958 and amendments thereto) and all other powers us enabling, do hereby authorise and empower you while holding the office of the Commander, Australian, New Zealand, and United Kingdom Naval Component Malaysia/Singapore, to assemble, as often as you shall see occasion, Courts Martial for the trial of such persons belonging to the New Zealand Naval Forces as are subject to the Naval Discipline Act 1957 (UK), and you are to forward the record of the proceedings thereof by the first conveyance to the Chief of the New Zealand Naval Staff for his consideration.
Given under our hands this 1st day of November in the year nineteen hundred and seventy-one at Wellington.
