Redefinition of the Boundaries of the Meringa-Tokirima Pest Destruction District (Notice No. 138 Ag. 20891A)

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Agricultural Pests Destruction Act 1967, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council hereby makes the following order.

ORDER

  1. This order may be cited as the Meringa-Tokirima Pest Destruction District Order 1971.

  2. The boundaries of the Meringa-Tokirima Pest Destruction District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the 21st day of June 1971*, are hereby altered and redefined and, as from the commencement of this order, the boundaries of the said district shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

BOUNDARIES OF MERINGA-TOKIRIMA PEST DESTRUCTION DISTRICT

ALL that area in the South Auckland, Taranaki, and Wellington Land Districts, comprising the Town District of Ohura and portions of the Taumarunui, Stratford, Clifton, and Taupo Counties and the Borough of Taumarunui containing 696,860 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at a point in the middle of the Ongarue River in line with the western boundary of Section 2, Block X, Hurakia Survey District, and proceeding generally easterly up the middle of that river to a point in line with the generally western boundary of Maraeroa A2 Block in Block VII, Hurakia Survey District; thence generally southerly to and along that boundary and the generally western boundary of part Waihaha No. 1 to Trig. Station No. 2165 (Pakihi) in Block II, Puketapu Survey District; thence south-easterly along a right line to the north-easternmost corner of Hauhungaroa No. 4; thence generally easterly along the generally northern boundaries of Hauhungaroa No. 5 and 2C Blocks to the intersection of the last-mentioned boundary produced with the middle of the Waiwhaanga Stream; thence easterly generally down the middle of that stream and the middle of the Oruapuraho River to the shore of Lake Taupo; thence generally southerly along the generally western shore of Lake Taupo to and up the middle of the Tongariro River and the Waikato River to its source in Block XII, Ruapehu Survey District; thence westerly along a right line to Trig. Station H (Paretetaitonga) in Block XI, Ruapehu Survey District; thence northerly along a right line to Trig. Station D (Ngauruhoe) in Block XVI, Tongariro Survey District, and along a right line to Trig. Station Tongariro, and along another right line between the last-mentioned trig. station and the middle of the mouth of the Waihi Stream in Block V, Puketi Survey District, to and generally north-westerly and westerly down the middle of the Wanganui River to a point in line with the Western boundary of Section 4, Block III, Hunua S.D.; thence southerly to and along that boundary to the north-eastern side of the Wanganui Valley Road; thence generally south-easterly along that side to a point due north of the south-western corner of Section 2, Block III, Hunua S.D.; thence southerly along a right line to that corner; thence south-easterly along a right line to the easternmost corner of Section 9, Block III, Hunua S.D., and along the generally southern boundaries of Section 25, Block III, Hunua S.D., and Sections 5, 6, and 7 Block VIII, Hunua S.D., to a point due north of the easternmost corner of Section 8, Block VIII, Hunua S.D.; thence southerly along a right line to that corner and along the eastern boundary of the said Section 8 to its south-eastern corner; thence generally south-westerly along the southern boundaries of the said Section 8, the southern side of Kirikau Valley Road, the eastern boundaries of Section 5, Block I, Kaitieke S.D., the northern boundaries of Sections 7 and 1, Block I, Kaitieke S.D., the north-western boundaries of Sections 2 and 9, Block VIII, Retaruke S.D., a right line across a road to and along the north-western boundaries of Section 3, Block VIII, Retaruke S.D., to a point in line with the southern boundary of Section 3, Block VII, Retaruke S.D., and to and along the generally southern boundaries of Sections 3, 2, and 4, Block VII, Retaruke S.D., and passing through Section 12, Block VII, Retaruke S.D., along the southern and western boundaries of the former Section 10, Block VII,

Retaruke S.D., to and down the middle of the Waipahiki Stream to its confluence with the Wanganui River; thence north-westerly up the middle of that river to a point in line with the southern boundary of Maraekowhai A3B1 Block; thence north-westerly to and along that boundary and the southern boundaries of Maraekowhai A5F, A5C1, A5E, and A5H Blocks and the last-mentioned boundary produced to the middle of the Tangarakau River; thence north-westerly generally up the middle of that river to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Section 30, Block VII, Pouatu Survey District; thence to and northerly along that boundary and the eastern boundary of part Section 9, Block VII, aforesaid, to a point in line with the eastern boundaries of Block III, Pouatu Survey District, and Block XV, Waro Survey District; thence northerly to and along those boundaries to the confiscation line; thence north-easterly along the confiscation line to the middle of the Tangarakau River; thence up the middle of that river to its confluence with the Waitaanga Stream; thence north-westerly generally up the middle of that stream to a point in line with the middle of a stream near the southern boundary of Section 2, Block VII, Waro Survey District; thence generally westerly to and up that stream to and along the northern side of Kotare Road and the southern boundaries of Section 1, Block VII, and Section 10, Block VI, Waro Survey District, to the south-western corner of the last-mentioned section; thence generally northerly along the western boundaries of Sections 10, 7, 4, 5, and 6, Block VI, Waro Survey District, to the north-western corner of the said Section 6; thence easterly along the northern boundary of the said Section 6 to the western side of Mohakatino Road; thence northerly along the western side of Mohakatino Road to the Mangaone Stream and generally northerly down the said stream to the point nearest the source of a stream intersecting the Mohakatino 1D East Block; thence north-easterly along a right line to and down the said stream to its confluence with the Mohakatino Stream near the western-most corner of Subdivision 1 of Section 1 Block III, Waro Survey District; thence generally northerly up the Mohakatino Stream and generally easterly along the northern boundary of Section 7, Block III, Waro Survey District, to Tawhitiraupeka Trig. Station; thence generally northerly along the western boundary of Mokau-Mohakatino 1H Block and the original boundary of that block through Section 3, Block V, Mokau Survey District, and its production to the middle of the Mokau River; thence north-easterly up the middle of that river to its confluence with the Panirau Stream; thence north-easterly generally up the middle of that stream to its source and along a right line to the intersection of the western boundary of part Section 1, Block IX, Aria Survey District, with the southern boundary of Section 9, Block V, Aria Survey District; thence southerly generally along the western boundaries of part section 1 and Section 2, Block IX, and Sections 1, 2, and Sub 2 of 3, Block XIII, Aria Survey District, to the northern boundary of Section 2, Block I, Ohura Survey District; thence easterly and southerly along the northern and eastern boundaries of Section 2, aforesaid, and Sections 3 and 4, Block I, Ohura Survey District, to the northernmost corner of Section 13, Block V, Ohura Survey District; thence south-easterly and north-easterly along the north-eastern and north-western boundaries of Sections 13 and 15, Block V, Ohura Survey District, to the northernmost corner of the said Section 15; thence southerly along the eastern side of the Mangakara Stream; thence generally easterly down the middle of that stream to its confluence with the Waitewhena Stream, thence up the middle of the Waitewhena Stream to a point in line with the eastern boundary of part Lot 3, D.P. 4850; thence southerly to and along the eastern boundary of part Lot 3, aforesaid, and its production across Ohura Road to the eastern side of that road; thence southerly along the eastern side of Ohura Road to the western boundary of part Section 3s, Huia Settlement; thence southerly along that boundary to and easterly generally along the northern side of Huia Road to Kopuha Road; thence due east, along a right line across the said Kopuha Road, the Ohura River and Turoto Road to its eastern side; thence easterly generally along the southern boundary of Block VII, Ohura Survey District, to the eastern-most corner of part Section 7 of the aforesaid Block VII; thence north-easterly along a right line to Wharehanga Trig. Station; and again along a right line to Tiro Trig. Station; thence north-easterly along the south-eastern boundary of part Section 1, Block VII, Ohura Survey District, to and along a right line across Waitangata Road to and along the south-eastern and eastern boundaries of part Section 9, Block III, Ohura Survey District, to its north-eastern corner; thence easterly generally along the southern boundaries of part Section 4, part Section 6, and Section 7, Block IV, Ohura Survey District, part Lot 1, D.P. 2716, and part Lots 2 and 3, D.P. 2717, to the south-eastern corner of the said Lot 3; thence northerly along the eastern boundary of that lot and
