ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, Amuri and
Cheviot Counties, containing 103,700 acres, more or less,
bounded by a line commencing at a point on the mean high-
water mark of the sea in the middle of the Waiau River, in
Block V, Cheviot Survey District, and proceeding north-
westerly generally up the middle of that river to a point in line
with the north-eastern boundary of Section 14, Annan Settle-
ment, in Block XIV, Waiau Survey District; thence north-
westerly to and along that boundary and its production to the
middle of Leader-Waiau Road; thence north-easterly along the
middle of the original Leader-Waiau Road to a point due west
of the southernmost corner of Lot 1, D.P. 6333; thence due
east to that corner; thence north-easterly generally along the
north-western boundaries of Lot 1, D.P. 6333, and Lot 4, D.P.
2161, and the generally western boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 2124,
to the north-western corner of the last-mentioned lot; thence
easterly and north-easterly along the southern and south-
eastern boundaries of Section 4, Annan Settlement, to the
easternmost corner of that section; thence easterly along the
northern boundaries of the part Section 48, Square 80, com-
prised in C.T. 19/39 (Amuri), and Sections 16 and 15, Square
80, and southerly along the eastern boundary of the last-
mentioned section and its production to the middle of the
Gelt River; thence south-westerly up the middle of that river
to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Lot 1,

PURSUANT to section 21 of the Agricultural Pests Destruction
Act 1967, the Waikari Pest Destruction Board hereby gives
notice that the Waikari Pest Destruction District which was
constituted by Order in Council on the 1st day of March
1971* is hereby divided tnto wards, the names and boundaries
of which are specified in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE
BOUNDARIES OF THE LAKES WARD
ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, County of
Waipara, containing 196,000 acres, more or less, bounded by a
line commencing at Trig. Station V on the Puketeraki Range
in Block VIII, Esk Survey District, and proceeding north-
westerly generally along the summit of the Puketeraki and
Dampier Ranges to the summit of the Main Divide; thence
north-easterly generally along the summit of the Main Divide
to Hope Pass, in Block X, Marion Survey District; thence
easterly and southerly along the northern and eastern boun-
daries of Reserve 4382 to Trig. Station H "Niggerhead", in
Block XV, Marion Survey District; thence easterly along a
right line to the northernmost point of Lake Marion; thence
southerly along the eastern shore of that lake to and along the
middle of Marion Stream to the north-eastern shore of Lake
Sumner; thence south-easterly along that shore to the middle
of the Hurunui River; thence due east for a distance of 3 miles
and 20 chains; thence south-easterly along a right line to
Trig. Station "Ben Cliberick", in Block XI, Mytholm Survey
District; thence north-easterly along a right line to a point on
the western boundary of Lot 2, D.P. 6080, 5 chains south of
the westernmost corner of Lot 1, D.P. 6080; thence southerly
and south-easterly along the western and south-western
boundaries of Lot 2, D.P. 6080, and the production of the last-
mentioned boundary to the middle of the Hurunui River;
thence south-westerly generally up the middle of the Hurunui
River and the Seaward River to the source of the last-
mentioned river at Trig. Station V, the point of commence-
ment.
BOUNDARIES OF WAITOHI WARD
ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, County of
Waipara, containing 108,300 acres, more or less, bounded by a
line commencing at the confluence of the north and south
branches of the Waipara River, in Block XIV, Waipara Survey
District, and proceeding north-westerly generally up the middle
of the south branch of the Waipara River to its source; thence
north-westerly along a right line to Trig. Station L "Block
Hill", in Block X, Okuku Survey District, and along another
right line to "Ashley Head" on the Puketeraki Range, in
Block XII, Esk Survey District; thence northerly generally along
the summit of the Puketeraki Range to the source of the
Seaward River at Trig. Station V, in Block VIII, Esk Survey
District; thence north-easterly generally down the middle of
the Seaward River and the Hurunui River to a point in line
with the north-western boundary of Section 10, the Peaks
Village Settlement; thence south-westerly to and along that
boundary and the north-western boundaries of Section 19,
again the said Section 10, and Sections 11, 12, 13, 14B, and
15, the Peaks Village Settlement, and the production of the
last-mentioned boundary to the middle of Peaks Road; thence
south-easterly along the middle of Peaks Road to a point in
line with the middle of Powers Road; thence south-westerly
to and along the middle of Powers Road, crossing the Waitohi
River to the middle of Waitohi Gorge Road; thence south-
easterly along the middle of that road to a point in line with
the middle of Murrays Road; thence south-westerly to and
along the middle of Murrays Road, Pawseys Road, and Heath-
stock Road to the middle of the north branch of the Waipara
River; thence southerly generally down the middle of that
river to the point of commencement.
BOUNDARIES OF MEDBURY WARD
ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, County of
Waipara, containing 39,500 acres, more or less, bounded by a
line commencing at a point in the middle of the Hurunui
River in line with the north-western boundary of Section 10,
the Peaks Village Settlement, in Block II, Waitohi Survey
District, and proceeding south-easterly generally down the
middle of the Hurunui River to the middle of No. 7 State
Highway; thence south-westerly generally along the middle of
that highway to a point in line with the middle of Princes
Street, in Block XII, Waipara Survey District; thence north-
westerly to and along the middle of Princes Street, Horsley
Down Road, Allandale Road, and Birchdale Road to the
middle of Murrays Road; thence northerly along the middle
of Murrays Road to the middle of Waitohi Gorge Road;
thence north-westerly along the middle of that road to a point
in line with the middle of Powers Road; thence north-easterly
along the middle of that road, crossing the Waitohi River
to the middle of Peaks Road; thence north-westerly along the
middle of that road to a point in line with the north-western
boundary of Section 15, the Peaks Village Settlement, thence
north-easterly to and along that boundary and the north-
western boundaries of Sections 14B, 13, 12, 11, 10, 19, and
again the said Section 10, the Peaks Village Settlement, and the
production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle of
the Hurunui River, the point of commencement.
BOUNDARIES OF MOUNT ALEXANDER WARD
ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, County of
Waipara, containing 75,700 acres, more or less, bounded by a
line commencing at the intersection of the middle lines of
Waikari Valley Road and No. 7 State Highway, in Block XII,
Waipara Survey District, and proceeding north-easterly
generally along the middle of No. 7 State Highway to the
middle of the Hurunui River; thence easterly generally down
the middle of that river to the middle of the No. 1 State High-
way, Awanui-Bluff, in Block II, Stonyhurst Survey District;
thence south-westerly generally along the middle of that
highway to the middle of the South Island Main Trunk Rail-
way, in Block XIV, Waikari Survey District; thence northerly
