Alteration and Redefinition of the Boundaries of the Wairarapa Pest Destruction District (Notice No. 115 Ag. 20891A)

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

Pursuant to the Agricultural Pests Destruction Act 1967, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER
  1. This order may be cited as the Wairarapa Pest Destruction District Order 1971.

  2. The boundaries of the Wairarapa Pest Destruction District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the 26th day of April 1971*, are hereby altered and redefined and, as from the commencement of this order, the boundaries of the said district shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

BOUNDARIES OF THE WAIRARAPA PEST DESTRUCTION DISTRICT
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District comprising the Boroughs of Martinborough, Featherston, Greytown, Carterton, and Masterton, the Counties of Featherston and Wairarapa South, and part of the County of Masterton, containing 2,150 square miles, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at a point on the sea coast in Palliser Bay in line with the north-eastern boundary of Orongorongo A1, in Block X, Pencarrow Survey District, and proceeding north-westerly to and along that boundary to the summit of the Rimutaka Range; thence generally north-easterly along the summit of the Rimutaka and Tararua Ranges to a point in Block XI, Tararua Survey District, due west of the source of the Ruamahanga River; thence due east along a right line to that source; thence generally south-easterly down the middle of the Ruamahanga River to the middle of No. 52 State Highway, in Block I, Otahoua Survey District; thence generally easterly and northerly along the middle of that highway to a point in line with the southern boundary of Section 103, Rangitumau District, in Block VII, Kopuaranga Survey District; thence generally north-easterly to and along the southern and eastern boundaries of the said Section 103, the south-western boundaries of Lot 2, D.P. 3243, and Lot 1, Plan A/345, the south-eastern boundary of the said Lot 1 and its production to the middle of Clelands Road, along the middle of that road to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Section 108, Rangitumau District, to and along that boundary and the southern boundary of Section 110, Rangitumau District, along a right line across Mangareai Road to and along the south-western and south-eastern boundaries of Section 235, Rangitumau District, the south-eastern boundary of Section 139, Rangitumau District, the southern, western, and northern boundaries of Lot 1, D.P. 4826, along a right line across Wairiri Road to and along the generally northern boundaries of Lot 2, D.P. 4826, the north-western boundaries of Lots 1 and 2, D.P. 17545, Lot 3, D.P. 9135, Section 24, Rangitumau District (including a right line across a road), and Lot 1, D.P. 9135, the south-western boundary of Section 237, Rangitumau District to its southernmost corner, along a right line to the northernmost corner of Section 148, Whareama District, along the north-western boundaries of Sections 148 and 149, Whareama District, the south-western boundary of Section 149, Whareama District and its production to the middle of the Tauweru River, up the middle of that river to a point in line with the southern boundary of Section 823, Whareama District, to and along that boundary, the western, northern, and eastern boundaries of Lot 1, D.P. 9604, the generally southern boundaries of Section 10, Block XVI, Puketoi Survey District, the western side of a road to a point bearing 245° 13’ from the northern-most corner of Section 33, Block XVI, Puketoi Survey District, along a right line to that corner and along the generally southern boundaries of Section 27, Block XVI, Puketoi Survey District, and the eastern boundary of that section and its production to the middle of the Pakowhai Stream; thence generally easterly and south-easterly down the middle of the Pakowhai Stream and the Mataikona River to the sea coast; thence south-westerly and north-westerly along the sea coast to the point of commencement.

Pursuant to section 35 of the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby directs the sale of the land described in the Schedule hereto, such land being no longer required for the purpose for which it was acquired.

ALL that piece of land containing 2 roods and 35.8 perches, being part Section 76, Block VIII, Katikati Survey District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked M.O.W. 25523 (S.O. 44991) deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured blue.
