THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE

  1. Bulk Tonnage

  2. Goods of Classes C, C plus percentages (except explosives), D, E, E plus percentages, G, P, P plus percentages, and section 85 General Scale of Charges will be conveyed at the rates specified in paragraph 2 hereof subject to the following conditions:

(a) The minimum quantity forwarded each and every week shall be the tonnage specified in paragraph 2 which shall include tonnage railed in the reverse direction and an average of 5 tons per four-wheeled wagon and 10 tons per bogie wagon based on each week's outward loadings. In no case will the quantity of goods consigned as bulk tonnage be less than 1 ton per four-wheeled and 3 tons per bogie wagon.

(b) Cranage—Cranage will be charged on the daily aggregate weight of lifts at 35c per ton.

(c) The goods carried as bulk tonnage will be conveyed at owner's risk.

(d) Participation in the rate is subject to written agreement with the department.

(e) All loading and unloading is to be performed by owners.

Except as otherwise provided, the haulage charge on goods between Dunedin and Victoria Wharf will be computed as per section 96, para. 4, subparas. (a) and (b), General Scale of Charges. The charges on goods conveyed to or from Victoria Wharf from or to stations beyond Dunedin will be computed on the Dunedin mileage plus 2 miles.

  1. Dunedin Saleyards Co.'s, Ltd., Private Siding at Burnside

Small consignments of goods hauled between Burnside Station and the Dunedin Saleyards Co.'s, Ltd., private siding will be charged for such haulage at the rate of 16c for each 28 lb or part thereof with a minimum charge of 61c per consignment, or under the provisions of section 97, General Scale of Charges, whichever is the cheaper.
