Approval of Revolving Amber Lights for Certain Vehicles
PURSUANT to regulation 39 of the Traffic Regulations 1956,
the Secretary for Transport hereby approves the fitting of
two revolving yellow or amber lights on any motor vehicle
to which it is not practicable to fit one such light capable of
being seen by drivers of vehicles approaching from the front
and rear of the vehicle, provided that-
(i) The lights shall be arranged so that only one revolving
amber light may be operated at any one time;
(ii) This approval shall apply only to those vehicles, or
classes of vehicle approved by other notices published in the
New Zealand Gazette from time to time, for the fitting of
revolving yellow or amber lights;
(iii) All conditions specified in such other notice shall be
fulfilled.

Exemption of Certain Motor Cycles From Speedometers
and Warning Devices
PURSUANT to regulation 25A of the Traffic Regulations 1956,
the Secretary for Transport hereby exempts vehicles of the
types specified in the Schedule hereto from the requirements
of the said regulations in relation to the fitting of a speedo-
meter and warning device.
SCHEDULE
ANY motor cycle classified in Class A or Class B for the
purposes of section 188 of the Transport Act 1962.

Special Order Made by Hauraki Plains County Council Altering
Riding Boundaries
PURSUANT to section 88 of the Counties Act 1956, the Secretary
for Internal Affairs hereby publishes the following special order
made by the Hauraki Plains County Council.

SPECIAL ORDER
THAT, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by sections 23
and 59 of the Counties Act 1956 the Hauraki Plains County
Council resolves by way of a special order as follows:

  1. The present division of the County of Hauraki Plains into
    nine ridings is revoked and in lieu thereof the said County
    shall be divided into nine ridings to be called Waitakaruru
    Riding, Kaihere-Mangatarata Riding, Patetonga Riding,
    Ngatea Riding, Kopuarahi-Pipiroa Riding, Horahia Riding,
    Kerepehi Riding, Netherton Riding, and Turua Riding and
    the said ridings are respectively described in Schedules 1 to 9
    annexed hereto, the boundaries of which are more particularly
    delineated on the plan annexed hereto as Schedule 10 and
    edged in red thereon.
    2.(a) The said Hauraki Plains County Council shall consist
    of nine members.
    (b) The electors of each and every riding shall elect one
    Councillor.
  2. The alteration hereby made shall take effect at the next
    general election of Councillors to be held in the month of
    October 1971, except in so far and to such extent as may be
    necessary for preparing any roll or otherwise providing for
    that election.
    SCHEDULE 1
    WAITAKARURU RIDING
    ALL that area in the South Auckland Land District, in the
    Hauraki Plains County, bounded by a line commencing at the
    southernmost corner of part Section 38, Block VII, Piako
    Survey District, and proceeding northerly and easterly along
    the boundary of the Hauraki Plains County as described in
    New Zealand Gazette, 1936, page 842, to a point in line with
    the western boundary of Section 1, Block X, Wharekawa
    Survey District; thence to and along that boundary to the
    northern side of No. 2 State Highway; thence generally
    southerly along a right line to and along the western and
    southern boundaries of Lot 2, D.P. S. 2579, the eastern
    boundary of Lot 2, D.P. S. 13215 and its production to the
    southern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 36372; thence westerly along
    that boundary and its production to the middle of Pouaru a
    Road; thence south-easterly along the middle of that road to
    a point in line with the north-western boundary of Section 51,
    Block IV, Piako Survey District; thence generally south-
    westerly to and along that boundary to the eastern side of
    Central Road, thence south-westerly along a right line to and
    along the north-western boundaries of Sections 69 and 50,
    Block IV, Piako Survey District and the production of the
    last-mentioned boundary to the middle of the Maukoro Canal;
    thence south-easterly along the middle of that canal to its
    intersection with the production easterly of the middle line of
    part Section 82, Block IV, Piako Survey District "Land to be
    taken for road" as shown on S.O. 45432; thence westerly to
    and along that middle line and the middle line of part Section
    81, Block IV, Piako, also shown on S.O. 45432, the middle of a
    public road and part Section 87 Block IV, Piako Survey
    District "Land to be taken for road" as shown on S.O. 42690,
    to its "intersection with the production westerly of the
    northern boundary of Section 3, Block VIII, Piako Survey
    District; thence westerly along the production of that boundary
    to and north-westerly along the middle of Mahuta Road to a
    point due east of the northernmost corner of Section 2, Block
    III, Piako Survey District; thence due west to that corner;
    thence generally westerly along the northern boundary of
    the said Section 2 and generally south-westerly along the north-
    western boundary of the northern part of Section 14, Block
    III, Piako Survey District to the northern side of the railway
    as shown on S.O. 19978L in Block III, Piako Survey District;
    then along a right line to and along the north-western
    boundary of the southern part of the aforesaid Section 14 to
    the northern side of No. 27 State Highway; thence generally
    south-westerly along a right line to and along the north-
    western boundaries of part Section 7 and Section 37, Block
    VII, Piako Survey District, and the south-eastern boundaries
    of part Sections 29 and 38, Block VII, Piako Survey District
    to the point of commencement.
    SCHEDULE 2
    KAHERE-MANGATARATA RIDING
    ALL that area in the South Auckland Land District, in the
    Hauraki Plains County, bounded by a line commencing at the
    southernmost corner of part Section 38, Block VII, Piako
    Survey District, and proceeding generally north-easterly along
    the south-eastern boundaries of part Sections 38 and 29, Block
    VII, Piako Survey District, the north-western boundaries of
    Section 37 and part Section 7, Block VII, Piako Survey District
    to the southern side of No. 27 State Highway; thence along a
    right line to and along the north-western boundary of the
    southern part of Section 14, Block III, Piako Survey District
    to the southern side of the railway as shown on S.O. 19978L
    in Block III, Piako Survey District; thence along a right line
    to and along the north-western boundary of the northern part
    of the aforesaid Section 14; thence generally easterly along the
    northern boundary of Section 2, Block III, Piako Survey Dis-
    trict to the western side of Mahutu Road; thence due east to
    the middle of that road; thence generally south-easterly along
    the middle line of that road to its intersection with the pro-
    duction westerly of the northern boundary of part Section 3,
    Block VIII, Piako Survey District; thence easterly along the
    production of that boundary to its intersection with the middle
    line of part Section 87, Block IV, Piako Survey District "Land
    to be taken for road" as shown on S.O. 42690; thence generally
    easterly along that middle line, the middle of a public road, and
    the middle line of part Sections 81 and 82, Block IV, Piako
    Survey District as shown on S.O. 45432, and the production of
    that middle line to the middle of the Maukoro Canal; thence
    generally south-easterly along the middle of that canal to a
