Adding Lands to Mount Aspiring National Park and Excluding Lands Therefrom

THE RIGHT HON. SIR KEITH HOLYOAKE, G.C.M.G., C.H., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
Pursuant to section 10 of the National Parks Act 1952, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby declares that the lands described in the First, Second, Third, and Fourth Schedules hereto shall as from the date hereof be added to and form part of the Mount Aspiring National Park, and such lands shall hereafter be subject to the provisions of the said Act, and, further, hereby declares that the lands described in the Fifth Schedule hereto shall as from the aforesaid date be excluded from the said park.

PROVISIONAL STATE FOREST TO BE ADDED TO MOUNT ASPIRING NATIONAL PARK—OTAGO LAND DISTRICT

All that area in Lake County and Block I, Dart Survey District containing 230 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at the north-eastern corner of the Provisional State Forest on the southern boundary of Section 2, Block XII, Dart Survey District, and proceeding generally south-westerly, generally northerly and easterly along the generally south-eastern, western, and northern boundaries of the Provisional State Forest to the point of commencement, being part of that area of forest numbered 37 and described in New Zealand Gazette 1919, p. 1291.

All that area in Lake County and Humboldt Survey District containing 1,965 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at the intersection of the Beans Burn and Provisional State Forest at its northernmost point and proceeding generally south-easterly along the north-eastern boundary of the Provisional State Forest to its intersection with a right line between Pluto Peak and Minos; thence westerly along that line to its intersection with the eastern boundary of an enclave of the Mount Aspiring National Park; thence generally north-westerly, south-westerly, and south-easterly along the north-eastern, north-western, and south-western boundaries of that park to the intersection of the last-mentioned boundary with the right line between Pluto Peak and Minos; thence westerly along that right line and generally northerly along the western boundary of the Provisional State Forest to the point of commencement, being part of that area of forest numbered 37 and described in New Zealand Gazette 1919, p. 1291.

All that area in Lake County and Humboldt and Forbes Survey Districts containing 10,865 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at the north-western corner of Run 19 in Humboldt Survey District and proceeding north-westerly along a right line to the junction of the right bank of Slip Stream with the right bank of the Dart River; thence generally westerly along the right bank of the Slip Stream to its intersection with the generally western boundary of the Provisional State Forest; thence generally north-easterly, easterly, and south-westerly along the generally north-western, northern, and south-eastern boundaries of the Provisional State Forest to the point of commencement being part of that area of forest numbered 37 and all of that area of forest numbered 43
and described in New Zealand Gazette 1919, p. 1291; and excluding therefrom part of Run 522 known as Cattle Flat and all that area of Mount Aspiring National Park described fifthly in Part II of the First Schedule in New Zealand Gazette 1964, p. 2305.

All that area in Lake County and Humboldt and Humboldtside Survey Districts containing 1,265 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at the intersection of the right bank of the Olivine Branch and the left bank of the Forgotten River in Humboldtside Survey District and proceeding easterly along a right line between the point of commencement and Angle Peak to its intersection with the generally northern boundary of the Provisional State Forest; thence generally easterly, southerly, and westerly along that northern boundary and the generally eastern and southern boundaries of the Provisional State Forest to the intersection of the last-mentioned boundary with a leading spur running north-westward from Sunset Peak; thence generally north-westerly along that spur and its production to the point of commencement being part of that area of forest numbered 35 and described in New Zealand Gazette 1919, p. 1291; and excluding therefrom an area of 200 acres of Mount Aspiring National Park as described in New Zealand Gazette 1964, p. 2305.

All that area in Lake County and Forbes and Forbeside Survey Districts containing 8,950 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at the intersection of the Joe River with the boundary of the Provisional State Forest in Forbes Survey District and proceeding generally north-easterly, westerly, and again north-easterly along the north-western, southern and again north-western boundaries of the Provisional State Forest to the intersection of the last-mentioned boundary with the northern boundary of the Otago Land District; thence easterly along that boundary to the north-eastern corner of the Provisional State Forest in Forbeside Survey District; thence generally south-easterly and south-westerly along the south-western and south-eastern boundaries of the Provisional State Forest to the point of commencement being part of that area of forest numbered 44 and described in New Zealand Gazette 1919, p. 1291; and excluding therefrom all that area of Mount Aspiring National Park described fourthly in Part II of the First Schedule in New Zealand Gazette 1964, p. 2305.
