NORTH CANTERBURY CATCHMENT BOARD
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Office Building Loan 1970β$50,000
THAT in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act
1941 and amendments, and the Local Authorities Loans Act
1956 and amendments, and regulations thereunder, and of all
other powers thereunto enabling it, the North Canterbury
Catchment Board resolves:
"That, for the purpose of providing interest, principal, and
other charges on a loan of $50,000, to be known as the Office
Building Loan 1970, authorised to be raised by the North
Canterbury Catchment Board under the above-mentioned
Acts, for the purpose of building office accommodation, the
said North Canterbury Catchment Board hereby makes a
special rate of 0.001535c in the dollar on the adjusted rateable
value (on the basis of capital value) on all rateable properties
comprised within the boundaries of the North Canterbury
Catchment Board area, and that such special rate shall
be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan
and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each year
and every year during the currency of the said loan, being
a period of up to 10 years or until the loan is fully paid off."
The above resolution was passed at a meeting of the North
Canterbury Catchment Board held on 6 August 1971.

CARTERTON BOROUGH COUNCIL
RESOLUTION TO MAKE SPECIAL RATE
Pensioner Housing Loan No. 3, 1971, $4,000
THAT, pursuant to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the
Carterton Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:
That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on
a loan of $4,000, authorised to be raised by the Carterton
Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the
erecton of pensioner housing, the said Carterton Borough
Council hereby makes a special rate of decimal nought
nought nought one two four five nine of a dollar (.00012459
of $1) upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the
Borough of Carterton, and that the said special rate shall be
an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan and
shall be paid half-yearly on the 1st day of September and
the 1st day of March in each and every year during the
currency of the loan, being a period of 40 years or until the
loan is fully paid off.
It is not proposed to collect the special rate as the loan
charges will be met out of the rental of the cottages.
I hereby certify that the above resolution was duly passed
at a special meeting of the Carterton Borough Council held
on Thursday, 29 July 1971.

BOROUGH OF ASHBURTON
SPECIAL ORDER
Constitution of Council
IN pursuance and exercise of its powers conferred by the
Municipal Corporations Act 1954 enabling it in that behalf,
the Ashburton Borough Council, acting on behalf of the
Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the Borough of Ash-
burton, doth hereby resolve by way of special order as follows:
Resolution:
That, in accordance with section 53 of the Municipal
Corporations Act 1954, the constitution of the Council shall
be altered to increase the total number of Councillors rep-
resented on the Council from 11 to 12, exclusive of the
Mayor. The election for the increased number of Councillors
will take effect on the date of the triennial elections on 9
October 1971.
The special resolution to make this bylaw was passed by
the Ashburton Borough Council at a special meeting of the
said Council held on the 5th day of July 1971, and was
confirmed at a subsequent meeting held on the 3rd day of
August 1971.
