That the Council of the City of Porirua resolve by way
of special order pursuant to section 53 of the Municipal
Corporations Act 1954, that with effect from the 9th day
of October 1971 the Council of the said City shall consist
of 12 Councillors, exclusive of the Mayor.

I certify that the above-mentioned special order was duly
made and confirmed.

TAUPO BOROUGH COUNCIL
CHANGE IN NUMBER OF COUNCILLORS
It is hereby certified that the following resolution was passed
by way of special order at a special meeting of the Taupo
Borough Council held on the 31st day of May 1971, and
confirmed at a subsequent meeting held on the 28th day of
June 1971:

In exercise of the power conferred on it by section 53 of
the Municipal Corporations Act 1954, the Taupo Borough
Council resolves by way of special order, as follows:

  1. In lieu of the Mayor and 8 Councillors, the said Taupo
    Borough Council shall consist of the Mayor and 10 Coun-
    cillors.

  2. The alteration hereby made in the number of members
    of the said Council shall take effect at the general election
    of Councillors to be held in the month of October 1971,
    except in so far and to such extent as may be necessary for
    preparing any roll or otherwise providing for that election.

NOTICE OF PRIVATE BILL

In the matter of a Private Bill intituled “An Act to Con-
solidate and Amend the Bank of New Zealand Officers'
Provident Association Act 1900 and its Amendment” notice is
hereby given that the Bank of New Zealand Officers' Provident
Association, a body corporate constituted by the Bank of New
Zealand Officers’ Guarantee and Provident Association
(hereinafter referred to as “the said Association”), intends
to apply to the House of Representatives in Parliament
assembled for leave to bring in the above-mentioned Bill of
short title of which is the Bank of New Zealand Officers'
Provident Association Act 1971.

The objects of the Bill are to consolidate and amend the
Bank of New Zealand Officers’ Provident Association Act
1900 and its amendments, and in connection therewith and
incidental thereto, to extend the powers of the association
in relation to the borrowing and investment of moneys, and
the undertaking of, or participation in, joint ventures and
other appropriate financial and fiduciary activities or arrange-
ments and any securities connected therewith, for the purpose
of enabling the association to utilise its funds to better
advantage, having regard to modern commercial conditions,
for the benefit of its members and their dependants.

The promoter of the Bill is the said the Bank of New
Zealand Officers’ Provident Association whose address for
service of notices and communications is at the offices of
its duly appointed solicitors Messrs Findlay, Hoggard, Rich-
mond, and Co., Macarthy Trust Building, Lambton Quay,
Wellington, where a copy of this Bill may be inspected.

Printed copies of the Bill will be deposited in the Private
Bill Office, Parliament Buildings, Wellington, on or before
the 1st day of July 1971.

The New Zealand Gazette is published on Thursday evening
of each week, and notices for insertion must be received by
the Government Printer before 12 o'clock of the day preceding
publication.

Advertisements are charged at the rate of 10c per line.
The number of insertions required must be written across
the face of the advertisement.
All advertisements should be written on one side of the
paper, and signatures, etc., should be written in a legible hand.

NEW ZEALAND STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS
These are not now available from Government Bookshops
but may be obtained from the New Zealand Standards Asso-
ciation, Private Bag, Wellington.

STATUTORY REGULATIONS
Under the Regulations Act 1936, statutory regulations of
general legislative force are no longer published in the New
Zealand Gazette, but are supplied under any one or more of
the following arrangements:

(1) All regulations serially as issued (punched for filing),
subscription $10 per calendar year in advance.

(2) Annual volume (including index) bound in buckram,
$5 per volume. (Volumes for years 1936-37 and
1939-42 are out of print.)

(3) Separate regulations as issued.
The price of each regulation is printed thereon.
