RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Special Loan $160,000—1971
PUBLIC notice is hereby given that at a meeting of the Ash-
burton Electric-Power and Gas Board held on the 21st day of
June 1971, the following resolution was passed:
Pursuant to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the
Ashburton Electric-Power and Gas Board hereby resolves
as follows:
“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on
a loan of $160,000 authorised to be raised by the Ashburton
Electric-Power and Gas Board under the above-mentioned
Act, for the purpose of supplying and distributing electrical
energy for the benefit of the Ashburton Electric-Power
District, and for such purposes to do all or any of such
matters and things which the Board is empowered to do by
the Electric-Power Boards Act 1925, and its amendments, and
by all other powers and authorities it enabling, the said
Ashburton Electric-Power and Gas Board hereby makes a
special rate of 0.0125c in the dollar ($) upon the rateable value
(on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in
the Ashburton Electric-Power District, and that the special
rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of
the loan, and be payable half yearly on the 1st day of January
and the 1st day of July (or yearly on the 1st day of July) in
each year and every year during the currency of the loan,
being for a period of 20 years, or until the loan is fully
paid off.”

CITY OF PAPATOETOE
SPECIAL ORDER
Consolidated Special Rates
THAT in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by
section 108A of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954, as
enacted by section 10 of the Municipal Corporations Amend-
ment Act 1959, and all other powers enabling it in that behalf,
the Papatoetoe City Council hereby resolves by way of special
order that instead of levying the special rates specified in the
Schedule hereto, a uniform consolidated special rate of point
seven two three nought seven cents (.72307) in the dollar ($)
on all rateable property within the City of Papatoetoe be, and
the same is hereby made, an annually recurring rate for the
purposes of paying the annual charges plus 10 percent thereof
payable in respect of the loans secured by those special rates,
and the Papatoetoe City Council hereby further resolves that
the consolidated special rate shall be payable in one sum on
the 1st day of August in each year at the City Council Office,
St. George Street, Papatoetoe, to George Henry Mills Green,
City Treasurer, or at such other place or to such other person
for the time being authorised by the Council.

STORM WATER DRAINAGE REDEMPTION LOAN NO. 9 1971,
$20,000
PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Papa-
toetoe City Council hereby resolves as follows:
That for the purpose of providing the annual charges on the
loan of $20,000 authorised to be raised by the Papatoetoe
City Council under the above-named Act for the purpose of
paying on maturity that portion of the Storm Water Drainage
Loan 1958, $116,000 which matures on the 14th day of
August 1971, the said Papatoetoe City Council hereby makes
a special rate of point nought one three one (.0131c) in the
dollar ($) upon the rateable value of all rateable property
within the City of Papatoetoe, and that the special rate shall
be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan,
and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each
and every year during the currency of the loan being a period
of ten (10) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

BOROUGH OF WHAKATANE
RESOLUTION INCREASING MEMBERSHIP OF COUNCIL
PURSUANT to section 53 (2) of the Municipal Corporations
Act 1954, the Whakatane Borough Council resolved by way of
special order, as follows:
“That the membership of the Whakatane Borough Council
as from the municipal elections in October 1971 be increased
from the present number of nine (9) Councillors exclusive of
the Mayor to ten (10) Councillors exclusive of the Mayor.”
The foregoing resolution was passed at a meeting of the
Whakatane Borough Council held on 21 June 1971.
