Awanui, Tapuaeroa, Piritarau, Waipiro, Mata, Hikuwai, and Tokomaru electing one (1) Councillor; and that pursuant to the provisions of section 36 of the Counties Act 1956, the above special order shall come into full force at the next general election of the said Waiapu County Council to be held in October 1971.

SCHEDULE

BOUNDARIES OF OWEKA RIDING OF WAIPU COUNTY

ALL that area in the Gisborne Land District, Waiapu County, formerly known as the Wharekahika and Whangaparaoa Ridings, bounded by a line commencing at a point on the sea coast in Block VIII, Matakaoa Survey District, being the southernmost corner of part Wharekahika 6B 1; thence south-westerly generally along the south-western boundary of part Wharekahika 6B 1 (crossing three intervening public roads), the southern boundary of Lot 2, D.P. 4129, the south-eastern boundaries of Wharekahika part 6B 2, part 6C 2C, 6C 1D 3, and part 7, along the northern boundaries of Sections 1 and 2, Block XI, Matakaoa Survey District, along the north-western boundary of Section 5, Block X, Matakaoa Survey District, the north-eastern boundary of Section 3, Block X, Matakaoa Survey District, along the north-eastern boundaries of Section 1, Block IX, Matakaoa Survey District, being distances of 3,100.8 links and 116.2 links, and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle of the Oweka Stream, down the middle of that stream and up the middle of the Waitangirua Stream to a point in line with the 471-link boundary of Wharekahika 10A 1, to and along that boundary, along the 4,908.9-link boundary thereof, to the north-eastern boundary of Whangaparaoa 2K 1, along that boundary and the north-eastern boundaries of Whangaparaoa part 2N and part 2P (crossing two intervening public roads) to Trig-Station W 55 Te Kokomuka, along the south-eastern boundaries of Whangaparaoa part 2P, 2R, and part 2M, along the eastern boundary of Waikura part I, the eastern, southern, and south-western boundaries of Waikura 2 to the easternmost corner of Lot 1, D.P. 9472 AK, along the south-eastern boundaries of Lots 1 and 2, of that D.P., and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle of the Mangahaupapa Stream; thence north-easterly generally down the middle of that stream and down the middle of the Raukokore River, to and up the middle of the Waikura River, to and up the middle of the Mangahinetore Stream, and up the middle of the Whekeiro Stream to a point in line with the western boundary of Lot 2, D.P. 10599 AK, in Block VI, Whangaparaoa Survey District, to and along that boundary, the western and northern boundaries of Lot 1, D.P. 10599 AK, and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle of the Mangapouri Stream, down the middle of that stream and down the middle of the Whangaparaoa River to a point in line with southern boundary of Whangaparaoa part 2D and 2E 2B 2, to and along that boundary, the southern and north-eastern boundaries of Section 1, Block I, Matakaoa West Survey District, along the north-eastern boundary of Whangaparaoa part 2D and 2E 2B 1 (crossing an intervening public road and State Highway No. 2) to Potekirua, being a point on the sea coast; thence south-easterly generally along the sea coast to the point of commencement.

BOUNDARIES OF WHANGAOKENO RIDING OF WAIPU COUNTY

ALL that area in the Gisborne Land District, Waiapu County, formerly known as the Horoera and Awatere Ridings, bounded by a line commencing at a point on the sea coast being the south-easternmost corner of Section 2, Block XVI, East Cape Survey District, thence south-westerly generally along the southern boundary of the said Section 2, and its production across a public road and across Section 1, Block XVI, East Cape Survey District, to and along the southern boundary of Marangairoa part 1C 6E 1, to and along the south-eastern boundaries of Marangairoa part 1C 5 (crossing two intervening roadways), the south-eastern, south-western, and western boundaries of Marangairoa 1C 2, to and along the southern boundary of Lot 4, D.P. 2208, the south-eastern and south-western boundaries of Lot 9, D.P. 2209, to and along the south-eastern and south-western boundaries of Lot 10, D.P. 2211, to and along the south-eastern boundaries of Marangairoa 2E 2B 2, the south-eastern right line boundaries of part 2E 1, and the production of the last of these to the middle of the Takiripiha Stream, down the middle of that stream to the middle of the Maraehara River, up the middle of that river to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Section 3, Block I, Waiapu Survey District, to and along that boundary, to and along the south-western boundary of Marangairoa part 2E 1, the south-eastern boundary of Pariwhero B and its production to the middle of the Te Puni Stream, down the middle of that stream and up the middle of the Maraehara River to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of Lot 3, D.P. 2745, to and along that boundary and the generally northern boundaries of Lots 3 and 4, D.P. 2745, the north-western and south-western boundaries of Whakaangiangi 2B 4, and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle of the Maraehara River, down the middle of that river and up the middle of the Otutu-rangi Stream to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of Wharikirauponga 3B, to and along that boundary and the south-eastern boundary of that block, along the eastern boundary of Tauwharerata B 2, the southern boundary of Section 6, Block IV, Mangaoparo Survey District, along the southern and western boundaries of Tauwharerata A 2, the southern boundaries of Sections 5 and 4, Block III, Mangaoparo Survey District, along the western boundary of the said Section 4 and its production to the middle of the Tauranga-kautuku River, up the middle of that river, to and along the south-eastern boundary of Section 2, Block II, Mangaoparo Survey District, the south-eastern, south-western, and western boundaries of Section 5, Block II, Mangaoparo Survey District, along the south-western boundary of the afore-mentioned Section 2, the southern boundary of Lot 1, of Section 1, Block II, Mangaoparo Survey District, and the south-eastern boundary of Section 2, Block I, Mangaoparo Survey District; thence north-easterly generally along the eastern boundaries of Waikura No. 2 and part 1, along the south-eastern boundaries of Whangaparaoa part 2M, 2R, and part 2P to Trig-Station W 55, Te Kokomuka, along the north-eastern boundaries of Whangaparaoa part 2P, part 2N, and 2K 1 (crossing two intervening public roads) to a point in line with the 4,908.9-link boundary of Wharekahika 10A 1, to and along that boundary and the 471-link boundary thereof and its production to the middle of the Waitangirua Stream, down the middle of that stream and up the middle of the Oweka River to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of Section 1, Block IX, Matakaoa Survey District, to and along that boundary, the north-eastern boundary of Section 3, Block X, Matakaoa Survey District, and the north-western boundary of Section 5, Block X, Matakaoa Survey District, along the northern boundaries of Sections 2 and 1, Block XI, Matakaoa Survey District, to and along the south-eastern boundaries of Wharekahika part 7, 6C 1D 3, part 6C 2C, and part 6B 2, along the southern boundary of Lot 2, D.P. 4129, the south-western boundary of Wharekahika part 6B 1 (crossing three intervening public roads) to the sea coast in Block VIII, Matakaoa Survey District; thence south-easterly generally along the sea coast to the point of commencement, including therein Whangaokeno (East) Island.

THE Horowhenua County Council pursuant to the provisions of section 23 of the Counties Act 1956, resolves by way of special order to alter the number of ridings within the County of Horowhenua from six to five and declares the name and boundaries of the five ridings to be as set out in the following Schedule:
