RESTRICTED AREA

ALL that area in the Tauranga, Rotorua, Whakatane, and Opotiki counties and the Boroughs of Whakatane and Kawerau in the South Auckland and Gisborne Land Districts, bounded by a line of commencement at a point in Block IV, Waihi South Survey District, being the intersection of the eastern boundaries of Waewaehikitea No. 1 Block with the shores of the Bay of Plenty and running south-easterly along those shores to a point dissected by the Tarawera River and inland south-west along the Tarawera River to a point dissected by the eastern boundary of Block I, Matata Parish, Rangitaiki Upper Survey District; and south along the eastern boundary of the said block and Block V, Rangitaiki Survey District; thence east along the northern boundary of Block X, Rangitaiki Upper Survey District; thence north along the western boundary of Block VII; thence east along the northern boundaries of Blocks VII, VIII, Rangitaiki Upper Survey District; thence north along the western boundaries of Blocks I, IA, Whakatane Survey District, to a point meeting the shores of the Bay of Plenty and along these shores to and southerly along the eastern boundaries of Block VII, XI, Whakatane Survey District, and along the southern boundary of Block XI to a point coinciding with the Whakatane County boundary and then south along the county boundary; thence to and along the northern and western boundary of Block IV and the western boundary of Block VIII, Waimana Survey District, continuing south along the Whakatane County boundary to a point coinciding with the northern boundary of Block III, II, I, Urewera Survey District.

Block IV, III, II, Galatea Survey District, and thence north along the eastern boundary of Block XIII, IX, Rangitaiki Lower Survey District; and thence west along the northern boundary of Blocks IX, Rangitaiki Lower Survey District, XII, XI, X, IX, Ruawahia Survey District, and the northern boundary of Block XII, Tarawera Survey District; and thence north along the eastern boundary of Block XI, VII, III, of the Tarawera Survey District, Blocks XV, XI, VII, Rotoiti Survey District; thence west along the northern boundary of Block VII, Rotoiti Survey District; thence north along the eastern boundary of Block II, Rotoiti Survey District, and along the eastern boundaries of Blocks XIV and X, to and easterly generally along the southern boundaries of Blocks VII and VIII, the aforesaid blocks being of Maketu S.D., to and along the southern boundary of Block II and the western boundary of Block VI, Waihi South S.D., to and along the north-western and north-eastern boundaries of Section 1s, Hereford Park Settlement, the north-eastern boundary of Section 12, the north-eastern and eastern boundaries of Section 13, crossing an intervening public road and along the eastern boundaries of Sections 14, 15, and 22, the aforesaid sections being of Block VI, Waihi South Survey District, to and along the southern boundary of Lot 3, D.P. S. 2781, being part Section 4, Block VI, aforesaid, along a right line across a public road and the Waitahanui River to and along the southern boundary of Lot 9, D.P. 8636, being part Tahunaroa No. 2 Block, the southern boundary of Section 7, Block VI, aforesaid, the southern boundary and eastern boundaries of part Lot 10 and the eastern boundaries of Lots 11, Parts 13, 14, and 15, D.P. 8636, aforesaid, and Lots 6, 4, and 2, D.P. 35929, along a right line across the Paeroa-Whakatane State Highway to and along the eastern boundary of part Lot 1, D.P. 8636, aforementioned, the aforesaid Lots being parts Tahunaroa No. 2 Block, and along another right line across a public road to and along the eastern boundaries of Waewaehikitea Nos. 3, 2A, and 2B Blocks and the eastern boundary of an Urupa and along another right line across the east coast main trunk railway to and along the eastern boundary of Waewaehikitea No. 1 Block, aforementioned, to the point of commencement.

Commencing again at a point in the north-west corner of Block V, Waiaua Survey District, and continuing along the shores of the Bay of Plenty to the eastern boundary of Block II, Waiaua Survey District; thence south along the eastern boundaries of Blocks II, VI, X, XIV of the Waiaua Survey District, and continuing south along the eastern boundaries of Blocks II, VI, X, XIV, Urutawa Survey District; thence west along the southern boundaries of Blocks XIV, XIII, Urutawa Survey District, and Blocks XVI, XV, XIV, Waioeka Survey District; thence north along the western boundaries of Blocks XIV, X, VI, II, Waioeka Survey District, and Block X, Opotiki Survey District; thence east along the northern boundaries of Blocks X, XI, XII, Opotiki Survey District, and part Block XIII, Waiaua Survey District; thence north along the eastern boundary of Blocks XIII, XI, V, Waiaua Survey District, to the point of commencement.

The Traffic (Waitemata County) Notice No. 1, 1971

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby gives the following notice.

NOTICE

  1. This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Waitemata County) Notice No. 1, 1971.

  2. The areas and roads specified in the First Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be closely populated localities for the purposes of section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

  3. The areas and roads specified in the Second Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be 40-miles-an-hour areas for the purposes of regulation 27A of the Traffic Regulations 1956*.

  4. The notice under the Transport Act 1962† dated the 16th day of September 1969 which relates to the Waitemata County is hereby revoked.

FIRST SCHEDULE

SITUATED WITHIN THE WAITEMATA COUNTY

At Muriwai:

All that area bounded by a line commencing at a point on the coast of the Tasman Sea opposite the terminating point of Motutara Road; thence easterly generally to the said terminating point; thence north-easterly generally along the north-western side of Motutara Road to a point 60 chains measured north-easterly generally along the said roadside from Domain Crescent; thence south-easterly generally across Motutara Road to the north-western side of Oaia Road; thence southerly generally along the said roadside across Waitea Road to the southern side of Waitea Road; thence due south-west by a right line to the coast of the Tasman Sea; thence northerly generally along the coast of the Tasman Sea to the commencing point.

At Parakai:

All that area bounded by a line commencing at the point where the eastern side of Parkhurst Road crosses the northern bank of the Te Hoau Stream; thence westerly generally by a right line across Parkhurst Road to a point 16 chains measured westerly generally along the southern side of Fordyce Road from Parkhurst Road; thence north-westerly generally by a right line across Fordyce Road to a point 8 chains measured north-westerly generally along the south-western side of Parkhurst Road from Springs Road; thence easterly generally by a right line across Parkhurst Road to the northern terminating point of Springs Road; thence easterly generally along the projection of the aforesaid right line to the bank of the Kaipara River; thence southerly generally along the bank of the Kaipara River to the northern bank of the Te Hoau Stream; thence south-westerly generally along the northern bank of the Te Hoau Stream to the commencing point.

At Whenuapai:

Brighams Creek - Hobsonville Road (from a point 16 chains measured north-westerly generally along the said road from Trig Road to Totara Road).

Kauri Road (from Puriri Road to its northern end on the shore of the Riverhead Inlet).

Pohutukawa Road.

Puriri Road.

The two approach roads to Whenuapai Aerodrome which junction with Brighams Creek - Hobsonville Road.

Totara Road (from Waimarie Road to Karaka Road).

Waimarie Road.

At Hobsonville:

Hobsonville Road (from the No. 16 State Highway (Auckland-Wellsford) to Brighams Creek-Hobsonville Road and from Wisely Road to a point 16 chains measured north-easterly generally along Hobsonville Road from Brighams Creek - Hobsonville Road).

Brighams Creek - Hobsonville Road (from Williams Road to the Crash Gates at the north-eastern end of Brighams Creek - Hobsonville Road).

Luckens Road (from Hobsonville Road to a point 24 chains measured south-easterly generally along Luckens Road from Hobsonville Road).

Trig Road (from Hobsonville Road to a point 8 chains measured north-westerly generally along Trig Road from Hobsonville Road).
