$110,000 to be known as the Kaikoura Scheme Works Loan 1971, for the purpose of providing part of the local share of the cost of the Scheme Works resulted as follows:

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 651.
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 306.
The number of informal votes was 6.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

AUCKLAND REGIONAL AUTHORITY

SPECIAL ORDER

THE Auckland Regional Authority in exercise of the powers vested in it by the Auckland Regional Authority Act 1963, section 43, and the Auckland Metropolitan Drainage Act 1960, and in pursuance of the authority conferred upon it under the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, and in exercise of all other powers and authorities enabling it on that behalf, doth hereby resolve by special resolution intended to operate as a special order to borrow the sum of $800,000 to be known as Drainage Loan No. 52, 1968, $2,100,000, 3rd Issue $800,000 for the purposes of and incidental to the improving and adding to the Manukau Treatment Plant and main sewer extensions.

The foregoing special order was passed at a special meeting of the Auckland Regional Authority convened for that purpose, and held on 15 March 1971, and confirmed at an ordinary meeting of the said Authority held on 19 April 1971, having meantime been advertised in the Auckland Star on 27 March and 10 April 1971.

The Common Seal of the Auckland Regional Authority was hereto affixed in the presence of the Chairman and Secretary.

UPPER HUTT CITY COUNCIL

SPECIAL ORDER—ALTERING THE NUMBER OF COUNCILLORS

IN exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 53 of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954, the Upper Hutt City Council resolves by way of special order, as follows:

“(1) In lieu of 10 councillors the Upper Hutt City Council shall consist of 12 councillors, exclusive of the Mayor.

(2) The alteration hereby made in the number of councillors shall take effect at the general election of councillors to be held in the month of October 1971, except in so far and to such extent as may be necessary for preparing any roll or otherwise providing for that election.”

The foregoing resolution was passed by way of special order at a special meeting of the Upper Hutt City Council held on the 23rd day of March 1971. It was publicly notified in the Leader on the 7th and 21st days of April 1971, and confirmed at an ordinary meeting of the Council held on the 27th day of April 1971.

The price of each Gazette varies and is printed thereon.

The New Zealand Gazette is published on Thursday evening of each week, and notices for insertion must be received by the Government Printer before 12 o’clock of the day preceding publication.

Advertisements are charged at the rate of 10c per line.

The number of insertions required must be written across the face of the advertisement.

All advertisements should be written on one side of the paper, and signatures, etc., should be written in a legible hand.


NEW ZEALAND STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS

These are not now available from Government Bookshops but may be obtained from the New Zealand Standards Association, Private Bag, Wellington.


STATUTORY REGULATIONS

Under the Regulations Act 1936, statutory regulations of general legislative force are no longer published in the New Zealand Gazette, but are supplied under any one or more of the following arrangements:

(1) All regulations serially as issued (punched for filing), subscription $10 per calendar year in advance.

(2) Annual volume (including index) bound in buckram, $5 per volume. (Volumes for years 1936–37 and 1939–42 are out of print.)

(3) Separate regulations as issued.
