Indecent Publications Tribunal

I, Victor Worth Thomas, Comptroller of Customs, give notice that I have applied to the Indecent Publications Tribunal for a decision as to whether the book The Tour presented by Aldo Lucchesi is indecent or not, or for a decision as to its classification.

Tariff and Development Board Notice No. 221—Further Notice Regarding Inquiry on Certain Printed Knitted Fabrics

INTERESTED parties are hereby notified that the public inquiry scheduled for 18 May regarding certain printed knitted fabrics (Tariff and Development Board Notices No. 204 and 208—New Zealand Gazette of 18 February 1971 and 4 March 1971) will now be concerned only with hearing representations relating to the proposed elimination of the margins by which, in respect of the goods set out in the First Schedule to Notice No. 204, the rates of duty on imports from Australia exceed those payable under the British Preferential Tariff.

The Controlled (Non-Resident) Accounts Notice 1971

PURSUANT to the Exchange Control Regulations 1965, the Reserve Bank of New Zealand hereby gives the following notice.

NOTICE

(1) This notice may be cited as the Controlled (Non-Resident) Accounts Notice 1971.
(2) This notice shall come into force on the 21st day of April 1971.
In this notice, the expression “non-resident account” means an account kept by any person in the name, or directly or indirectly for the benefit, of any person, or any two or more persons, if that person or any of those persons is—
(a) Not ordinarily resident in New Zealand (within the meaning of the Exchange Control Regulations 1965); or
(b) A trustee for or a nominee or agent of any person not ordinarily resident in New Zealand (within the meaning of the said regulations).
The non-resident accounts specified in the First, Second, Third, Fourth, and Fifth Schedules hereto are hereby declared to be controlled accounts for the purposes of regulation 4B of the Exchange Control Regulations 1965 (as inserted by regulation 4 of the Exchange Control Regulations 1965, Amendment No. 1).
The Controlled (Non-Resident) Accounts Notice specified in the Sixth Schedule hereto is hereby revoked.

FIRST SCHEDULE

ANY non-resident account in New Zealand kept in the name or for the benefit of any person carrying on the business of banking outside New Zealand.

SECOND SCHEDULE

ANY non-resident account in New Zealand kept in the name or for the benefit of any person carrying on, whether in New Zealand or elsewhere, the business of arranging itineraries, accommodation, or other services for travellers, or otherwise providing travel agency facilities.

THIRD SCHEDULE

ANY non-resident account in New Zealand kept anywhere in New Zealand in the name or for the benefit of any of the following persons:
