Special Order

THE Auckland Regional Authority in exercise of the power vested in it by the Auckland Regional Authority Act 1963, sections 34 and 36, and in pursuance of the authority conferred upon it under the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, and in exercise of all other powers enabling it on that behalf doth hereby resolve by special resolution intended to operate as a special order, to borrow the sum of three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000) as a special loan to be known as Regional Roading Loan No. 2, 1968, $600,000, 2nd Issue $300,000, for the purposes of meeting the costs of and incidental to the acquisition of land for future regional roads and motorways.

The foregoing special order was passed at a special meeting of the Auckland Regional Authority convened for that purpose and held on 15 February 1971, and confirmed at an ordinary meeting of the said Authority held on 15 March 1971, having meantime been advertised in the Auckland Star on 20 February and 6 March 1971.

Special Order

THE Auckland Regional Authority in exercise of the powers vested in it by the Auckland Regional Authority Act 1963, section 42, and in pursuance of the authority conferred upon it under the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, and in exercise of all the powers enabling it on that behalf doth hereby resolve by special resolution intended to operate as a special order to borrow the sum of one million dollars ($1,000,000) as a special loan to be known as Bulk Water Supply Loan No. 23, 1968, $2,800,000, 1st Issue $1,000,000, for the purpose of meeting the costs of and incidental to the completing of the major works of the Lower Huia Development.

The foregoing special order was passed at a special meeting of the Auckland Regional Authority convened for that purpose and held on 15 February 1971, and confirmed at an ordinary meeting of the said Authority held on 15 March 1971, having meantime been advertised in the Auckland Star on 20 February and 6 March 1971.

In the matter of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954 and the Public Works Act 1928:

Notice is hereby given that the Henderson Borough Council proposes under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work, namely, the construction of a service lane between Rata Street and Commercial Place in the Borough of Henderson, and for the purposes of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the lands so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the town clerk to the said council, situate in Thomas Street, and is open for inspection without fee by all persons during ordinary office hours.

All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such lands who have any objections to the execution of the said public work or the taking of the said lands must state their objections in writing and send the same within 40 days from the first publication of this notice to the town clerk at the Council Chambers, Thomas Street, Henderson, and that, if any objection is made in accordance with this notice, a public hearing of the objection will be held unless the objector otherwise requires and each objector will be advised of the time and place of the hearing.

NOTICE OF PRIVATE BILL

AN ACT TO AMEND THE CHRISTCHURCH GAS ACT 1870

Notice is hereby given that THE CHRISTCHURCH GAS, COAL AND COKE COMPANY LIMITED (hereinafter called “the company”) intends to apply for leave to bring into the House of Representatives during the present session of Parliament a Private Bill the short title of which is “The Christchurch Gas Amendment Act 1971”. The objects of the proposed Bill are to extend the limits of the principal Act which now extend to an area lying within a radius of 5 miles from the centre of the market-place in the City of Christchurch so as to include all lands extending to and lying within a radius of 25 miles from the Chief Post Office, Cathedral Square in the City of Christchurch; and to define the expression “natural gas”; and to replace the term “Resident Magistrate” by the term “Stipendiary Magistrate”; and to make provision for penalties more in accord with present circumstances and to provide that the value of gas wasted through wilful or negligent acts may be recovered by the company; and to provide the company with power to inspect places and buildings supplied with gas; and to provide that bylaws made under the provisions of section 31 of the principal Act shall not be repugnant to the principal Act or to the Municipal Corporations Act 1954 or to the Counties Act 1956; and to repeal section 37 of, and the Schedule to, the principal Act as they
