Appointments, Promotions, Transfers, and Releases of Officers of the Royal New Zealand Navy

PURSUANT to the Navy Act 1954, His Excellency the Governor-General has approved the following appointments, promotions, transfers, and releases of officers of the Royal New Zealand Navy:

Commander W. E. V. Lowe, O.B.E., is released and transferred to the Retired List, to date 26 November 1970.

Lieutenant Commander D. E. Payne, O.B.E., is released and transferred to the Emergency List, to date 1 April 1971.

Lieutenant D. J. F. McNeil is released and reverts to the Retired List, to date 16 March 1971.

Lieutenant J. E. N. Welch is granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant Commander, to date 24 February 1971.

Lieutenant K. F. Connew, B.E.M., is released and reverts to the Retired List, to date 16 March 1971.

Lieutenant M. J. Murdoch, advanced to Assistant Surveyor 2nd Class, to date 1 January 1971.
