Pursuant to section 175 (3) of the Harbours Act 1950, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby authorises the Waitemata County Council to reclaim from the Orewa Estuary an area of 9 acres 2 roods, more or less, as shown edged red on plan marked M.D. 14021 and deposited in the office of the Marine Department at Wellington.

Pursuant to the Agricultural Pests Destruction Act 1967, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.
ORDER
- (1) This order may be cited as the Union of Hurunui, Waitohi, and Motunau Pest Destruction Districts Order 1971. (2) This order shall come into force on the 1st day of April 1971.
- The boundaries of the Hurunui pest destruction district (which was constituted by Order in Council on the 17th day of January 1887), the Waitohi pest destruction district (which was constituted by Order in Council on the 14th day of September 1949†), and the Motunau pest destruction district (which was constituted by Order in Council on the 22nd day of February 1926‡) are hereby declared united to form one district having the name Waikari pest destruction district. the boundaries of which shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto; and it is hereby further declared that the basis on which the Board for the said district shall first levy its general rate shall be the acreage of the land occupied by the ratepayer.
SCHEDULE
BOUNDARIES OF Waikari PEST DESTRUCTION DISTRICT
ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, Waipara and Cheviot Counties, containing 419,200 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at a point on the mean high-water mark of the sea in the middle of the Waipara River in Block X, Teviotdale Survey District, and proceeding north-westerly generally up the middle of that river and the south branch of the Waipara River to its source, along a right line to Trig. Station L, Block Hill in Block X, Okuku Survey District, and along another right line to Ashley Head in Block XII, Esk Survey District; thence northerly generally along the summit of the Puketeraki Range to Trig. Station V, in Block VIII, Esk Survey District, at the source of the Seaward River; thence easterly generally down the middle of that river and the Hurunui River to the mean high-water mark of the sea; thence south-westerly generally along that mean high-water mark to the point of commencement.

Exempting Lands in the Westland Land District from the Operation of Part III of the Coal Mines Act 1925

PURSUANT to section 171 of the Coal Mines Act 1925, I, Sir Arthur Espie Porritt, Baronet, the Governor-General of New Zealand, do hereby exempt the lands described in the Schedule hereto from the operation of Part III of the said Act.
